The Research Of Fu'an's Shipbuilding Industry Under Supply-side Structural Reform

The shipbuilding industry is a large-scale manufacturing industry concerning the national economy and people's livelihood and closely related to all walks of life.Among all manufacturing industries,it is of greatest stimulation and highest demand for other industries.It has considerable relevance to electronics,chemical,mechanical and steel industries and directly associated with more than 90 of the 122 major sectors of the national economy.The development of shipbuilding industry is conducive to promote local economy and relevant manufacturing technology progress.The deep impact of international financial crisis results in sluggish global shipping market,serious shortage of new contract and order book,price downturn in ship transaction market and sharp contradiction from structural excess capacity.The development of shipbuilding industry is not optimistic.As a resource advantage in Fu'an,shipbuilding industry also faces problems such as depressed market,lower benefit,capital shortfall,shortage of order,idle capacity,operation difficulty and brain drain.The manifest difficulties present as not easy to receive order,hard to delivery,lack of capital and difficult to make profit.We need to seize the opportunity that the national and provincial policies and the CPC Ningde Municipal Committee highlight the development of traditional industry,accelerate industrial transformation and upgrading,promote optimizing product structure,eliminate outdated excess capacity,and try to achieve "the earlier to transform,the earlier to ease and out of recession.To boost the expansion of industrial cluster and create a competitive one with distinctive feature is of considerable realistic significance.This paper is a study on the shipbuilding industry of Fu'an City in Fujian Province.Guided by theories of Industry Cluster,Public Policy and Industry Life Cycle and applied comparative analysis approach and SWOT Analysis,it makes a comparative analysis on shipbuilding industries in South Korea and Japan through analyzing massive literature.Based on the actual situation,it also analyzes the problems of shipbuilding industry in Fu'an from its strengths,weaknesses,opportunities and threats and proposes countermeasures and suggestions for better development.This paper includes five parts.The first part is the introduction which refers to the research background,significance and summary of studies home and abroad.The second part illustrates definition and theoretical support of relevant concepts which provides theoretical basis of this paper.The third part makes a profile of the shipbuilding industry in China,Fujian Province and Fu'an City.The forth part conducts a SWOT Analysis on Fu'an's shipbuilding industry and proposes relevant strategies.The fifth part briefly describes the status quo of shipbuilding industries in South Korea and Japan and their experiences brought to us.The sixth part puts forward strategic choices,countermeasures and suggestions for promoting supply-side structural reform of Fu'an's shipbuilding industry.The last part is conclusion.
