The International Competitiveness Analysis Of The Ginseng Industry Between China And South Korea

Economic globalization is one of the most notable features of world economic development.Under the background of economic globalization,economic competition has more competitive between countries and regions,which mostly concentrates on industry international competitiveness.And promoting national industry international competitiveness has great practical significance.Ginseng industry is an important export industry in China and South Korea.And Chinese ginseng productions have big yield and low output.But the international competitiveness is weak,and those productions only has mid-range international markets,while South Korean ginseng productions have small yield and high output.Though international competitiveness is strong,those productions occupy the high international market.Although Chinese ginseng productions were weaker than South Korean ginseng productions in export competitiveness.But in 2011,Chinese ginseng productions get more international market share than South Korean ginseng productions,which indicates that competition is more and more intense.This thesis uses literature analysis,comparative analysis and qualitative analysis and discusses the absolute advantage theory,comparative advantage theory and national competitiveness theory as the theoretical basis to analyze ginseng industry international competitiveness of China and South Korea.First of all,from the comparison,South Korean ginseng industry competitiveness development foundation is divided into three aspects,including development history,industry status and innovation ability,which is the foundation of China and South Korea ginseng industry international competitiveness.Second,the thesis selects three indexes,including index of international market share,dominant comparative advantage and trade competitiveness.Through the way of combining theoretical and empirical analysis in ginseng industry international competitiveness of China and South Korea,which concluded that:(1)the international market share of South Korean ginseng products declines gradually in2010 and Chinese ginseng productions gradually has more market share than South Korea ginseng productions;(2)the South Korean ginseng products have more competitive advantages than China ginseng products;(3)South Korean ginseng products have significant advantages in export competitiveness,but Chinese ginseng products export competitiveness has significant disadvantages.Then,the thesis which based on the theory of Porter’s "diamond model",demands influence factors from the production elements,conditions,the enterprise organization structure,related and supporting industries,government and opportunities.Finally,the thesis puts forward the suggestion and conclusion of ginseng industry development in our country.
