As a symbol of international tourism competitiveness,the development of inbound tourism has attracted more and more attention.Shanghai is one of the main entry tourism destination of China,and a large number of foreign tourists take Shanghai as the first city to enter China.An investigation showed that most of these tourists are independent travelers.Due to differences of the natural environment,the state,society,culture and language,tourist information searching is the necessary step for foreign travelers to make travel decisions to reduce the uncertainty of a strange country.Besides,the experience of information search not only directly affect the tourists subsequent decisions,but also affect the satisfaction of tourism destinations.Tourism is an information intensive industry,and tourism information disclosure is particularly important with the development of network and information technology.Distribution and transmission of tourism information should be established on the basis of the demand of tourist information,this article mining the information needs published by foreign tourists in Shanghai in the BBS of TripAdvisor,and use the method of grounded theory to analyze the data.Based on the sample data,I summary eight kinds of information needs including the information needs of foreign tourists,traffic information demand,catering information demand,accommodation information demand,the tour information demand,tourism enterprises and workers information demand,immigration policy information demand,life service information demand,and guide and reference information demand.Besides,I decide all the foreign travelers into different groups based on different measures such as nationalities,travel mode,travel purpose,times to the Shanghai.In order to ensure the scientific nature of the model,this paper introduces significance to construct theoretical paradigm,to establish the model of foreign tourists to Shanghai information demand.Taking advantage of the model,this paper show that:1.The demand of foreign tourists are not isolated,demand for all kinds of information in the search for certain types of information are often along with other information associated with the class information search.2.Nationality of foreign tourists have a certain influence on the information collection,but these effects are based on the cultural background difference and cause more information in the emphasis of demand.3.Tourists are often describing their characteristic that will affect their search of information,based on the description of the tourists and subsequent information demand analysis,this paper sums up the influential factors including the demand for information way,visiting times,the purpose of the trip.On the basis of the above conclusion,this paper make the following suggestions for the relevant government departments and tourism enterprises :1.The relevant government departments are ought to pay attention to tourism website for foreigners,such as disclosure of the page and add the outgoing traffic in Shanghai and so on.2.Tourism enterprise website should pay attention to the English information,and update the website information in a timely manner.3.Tourism related industries in the disclosure of information of the enterprise itself at the same time,also note other industries related to the industry’s disclosure of information,trying to provide a more comprehensive,complete and accurate information for foreign tourists.
