The Research On The Path Of The Transformation And Upgrading Of China's Equipment Manufacturing Industry Under The Global Value Chain

The main focus of this paper is to discuss how to promote the transformation and upgrading of the equipment manufacturing industry which is significant to the national economy under the background of global value chain,as well as how to inprove the position of China's equipment manufacturing industry in the global value chain.At first,this paper analyses the current status of China's equipment manufacturing income scale,number ofemployed persons,industry structure,TC index and technical complexity of China's equipment manufacturing industry.Through the analysis,we find that the overall scale of China's equipment manufacturing is large and the trade competitiveness.as well as technical complexity grows year by year.In spite of these,China's equipment manufacturing is still lying near the bottom of the global value chain.Secondly,by studying the related theories,we obtain the 6 possible paths for the upgrading of equipment manufacturing,whose evolution mechanism are demonstrated in the form of smile curve in the paper.Next,according to the characteristics of China's equipment manufacturing industry chain and the status of the global value chain,we get the direction that suitable for China's equipment manufacturing industry transformation and upgrading.Thirdly,this article use EXP Y index as measure index of rising global value chain,and calculated the export of equipment manufacturing industry in the top 30 country's technical complexity of equipment manufacturrmg industry.We find that compare with Europe and the United States,China's equipment manufacturing industry technical still has the big disparity.Then this article 19 countries in 2001-2014 panel data of the influence factors of the technical complexity of the equipment manufacturing industry has carried on the empirical analysis,found that higher education employment,patent grant,the equipment manufacturing industry level of imports for the equipment manufacturing industry has significant role in promoting the global value chain,r&d investment,r&d investment and foreign direct investment to China's equipment manufacturing export present no significant positive correlation between the technology complexity.The higher education employment for China's equipment manufacturing industry global value chain upgrade has significant negative correlation.Finally throughout the above theoretical and enpirical analysis,we obtain a comprehensive understanding of development level and core competitive advantage of China's equipment manufacturing under global value chain.Moreover,the factors related to the transformation and upgrading of equipment manufacturing are analyzed deeply and the mechanism and extent of various influencing factors are cleared.On these basis,we propose several upgrade paths and related policy recommendations satisfying the current development level of equipment manufactxuring and basic national conditions.
