Research On Export Competitiveness Of Mongolian Copper Concentrate

Copper is one of the most practical and wonderful elements in life.Copper is not only the most widely used metal,it is the first metal used in the history of mankind.Because of its good ductility,high thermal and electrical conductivity,it is most commonly used in electrical cable,electronic components and building materials.In recent years,due to the increase in development of related field and the demand of copper concentrate,copper production grew rapidly.To increase the volume of production,Mongolia is accelerating the large copper mine project Oyu Tolgoi,and just in nearly two years of time Mongolia has successfully turned into Asia's largest copper concentrate exporter.Using relevant data discussed the state of Mongolia and other key copper concentrate export countries production,trade and international status.China is the world's largest copper concentrate importer,and also China is the biggest copper market for Mongolia.The biggest problem of Mongolian copper concentrate trade is the export market singularity,which leads to a competitive disadvantage export pricing.This paper analyzes the factors of influencing Mongolian copper concentrate trade competitiveness,the exchange rate of RMB against the Mongolian currency,economic situation of China and FDI are all major factors of copper concentrate trade in Mongolia.In order to better measure the international competitiveness of Mongolian copper concentrate exports,the main 8 indicators are calculated and analyzed.According to the competitive comprehensive score,it is found that the export competitiveness of Mongolian copper concentrate is mainly due to the resource endowment,and it is the main factor to determine the status of its international market.The impact of the devaluation of the currency on the copper concentrate exports is relatively large,especially the RMB exchange rate against the Mongolian currency rising,providing an opportunity to increase export volume to China.Finally,the combination of theoretical and empirical analysis results to provide recommendations and conclusions to enhance competitiveness.
