Research On The Influence Of Parts And Components On China's Manufacturing Technological Progress

The implementation of economic globalization makes the economic cooperation continue to carry out between countries,and the way of international trade begins to change from early intra-industry trade model to intra-product trade model.As a developing country,in the absence of technology and lack of innovation capacity,China has been in the downstream part of the production value chain,mainly by undertaking the outsourced parts of developed countries and other intermediate products to participate in the international division of labor.High-tech imports of parts and components will inevitably promote the export of the final capital goods,but whether the advanced technology of parts and components can produce spillover effect and promote the technological progress of manufacturing industry of China,it is worth of in-depth study.The concept of domestic technical content of exports provides a good analytical tool for its research.This thesis first describes the theoretical basis of parts and components import affecting technological progress,and puts forward the specific path of parts and components affecting technological progress.Then,this thesis briefly analyzes the present situation of the import scale and import category of parts and components from the whole manufacturing industry and different industries.For the empirical part,this thesis studies the impact of parts and components import on the technological progress of overall manufacturing and six sub-sectors between 2002-2007 and 2008-2015.The following conclusions can be drawn:(1)The effect of parts and components import promoting domestic technological progress begins to show in recent years.The current scale and category of parts and components have significantly contributed to the promotion of domestic technical content,and the promotion of category is much greater.(2)About the impact of parts and components promoting technological progress,there are significant differences in different industries,and the role of high-tech industry is much greater.(3)R&D investment,material capital and human capital have also promoted the upgrading of domestic technical content,in which the promotion of material capital is the largest,and the promotion of human capital has not yet fully play.The following suggestions are proposed,such as expanding the imports scale of parts and components,at the same time,strengthening the expansion of the imports category of parts and components,according to industry characteristics to guide the adjustment of the direction of imports of parts and components,increasing R&D investment scale and taking into account the direction of R&D investment,strengthening the high-tech talent construction,focusing on cultivating the core competitiveness of domestic parts and components manufacturers,in order to bring technological progress and sustainable development of manufacturing industry of China.
