Research On Influential Factors Of Intra-industry Trade In Services Of Republic Of Korea

This thesis was written to study Korea's service sector intra-industry trade.Studies of service sector intra-industry trade have used balance sheet database as a data source for analysis.But that kind of study is obsolate from recent study style.Now we can use much finer database than past time.One of that is ICIO,or Inter-Country Input-output Database,which helps us to analyse trade data pertinent to study purpose.This study reviews previous study of manufacturing industry's intra-industry trade,because intra-industry trade was "found" when study was on the manufacturing industry trade.I compared that with service sector's,to know whether manufacturing sector's study can be applied on service sectors.After that,using WIOD 2016 version,this paper tried to analyse how Korea's service sector intra-industry trade developed.Becuase trade conditions need time to change,the data used for this study are consisted of every 5 years.But at the point I write this thesis,recently updated benchmark year of supply use table for input-output tables was 2010,so I didn't used data after 2010.Korea's service sector intra-industry trade research was conducted by considering intermediate product market and final product market respectively and I compared two markets each other to know Korea's service sector intra-industry trade.Market share was also considered as another analyte,because to see intra-industry trade index alone is not good to analyse trade well.By doing this,this study can be considered good-balanced research.Then,by using gravity model empirical analysis,this paper tried to find variable that would be correlated with Korea's service sector intra-industry trade.When doing this,I separated countries into two groups,or big gap between intermediate product GL index and final product GL index for one group and small gap of that for another.Finally,I summarized empirical results and gave an advice to Korea government and business people.
