| The rapid urbanization on a massive scale since China’s reform and opening up,causes many problems in cities, the main problems are: Population agglomeration is too fast in big city that causes obvious “crowding effect” and the reduce of urban comprehensive carrying capacity.Small and medium-sized cities occur low levels of serious homogeneity competition, the spread of the urban construction is disordered, space utilization efficiency is low.Based on the current situation of development,A growing number of research began to think about following questions: The existence of the optimal city size and appropriate city size. How to achieve coordinated development of city scale and city benefit. This study is based on the research background, selects the Ground level or above city in the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region as the research case,on the basis of analyzing urban scale and benefit development, first of all, analyze coordination characteristics of the scale and benefit of each city by building the coupling coordination degree model. Then, from the perspective of the static analysis, classify the cities of the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region in 2013 using the quadrant diagram classification method. Then, research the development path of appropriate size against different types of cities on the basis of development relations between city scale and benefit. Finally, from the perspective of dynamic analysis, construct elastic coefficient of city scale expansion to analyze city scale expansion rationality in the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region from 2004 to 2013 on the basis of the concept of urban scale benefit theory. The main conclusion of this study:(1)The population scale system in the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region conforms with the pyramid structure, the type of population size distribution Is the first-place distribution of typical. The city size expansion speed keeps the higher and middle level in 1995-2014.(2)Economic benefit and social benefit have similar regional agglomeration characteristic in 2003-2013,the agglomeration pattern of social benefit is similar to economic benefit, the fragmentation pattern becomes more and more obvious.(3)The coupling coordination degree of city scale and benefit increased integrally, and the differences between cities is narrowing, the coordination degree of whole region changed from inharmonious recession type to harmoniousdevelopment type.(4)the cities which benefit ahead of scale mainly distributed in Zhejiang province, east Anhui, central Jiangsu and coastal region of east Jiangsu, those city scale is in the moderate state, and still need to improve city benefits with the growing city scale. The cities which scale ahead of benefit mainly distributed in the north Anhui,West Anhui and north Jiangsu. Those cities should develop characteristic industry to improve city benefits. At present,as to Shanghai and Nanjing which scale ahead of benefit can be developed from the following thinking path: Ppromote urban management technology and management level to solve the "city disease".Expand urban infrastructure and the supply of public services to improve bearing capacity of city.Promote the city industrial structure transformation to realize green development.Promote regional division and coordination to develop urban agglomeration.(5)In 26 cities of the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region, the urban expansion elasticity coefficient is less than 1 in the Huaian,Jinhua,Fuyang,Suzhou and Quzhou, the scale expansion of them is not reasonable relatively. The scale expansion of the rest cities is reasonable relatively. This study tries to research rational scale of city from the angle of the urban benefit according to the relationship between city scale and city benefit, this study analyze whether the city scale is moderate, then provides development proposals. This study computes the city elastic coefficient of scale expansion to analyze whether the city scale expansion is reasonable based on the connotation of city scale. This study Hopes to give theoretical guidance on the development of city scale in the Pan Yangtze River Delta Region. |
