The process of urbanization is accelerating in recent years.For the sake of solving the problems caused by the unprecedented urbanization,the concept related to sustainable development strategy is spreading in the world.Both domestic and international countries regard sustainable transport development more serious.The emergence of Bus Rapid Transit(BRT)provides the options to solve the traffic problems for the cities that are experiencing the rapid development.However,compared to foreign countries that have successful BRT systems,the development of China's BRT is not very optimistic due to the later development time and the inadequate research.The crucial issue is to build adequate BRT system that suitable for the present development of those domestic cities.Therefore,it is necessary to fully analyze the development characteristic of BRT systems in China and find out the key factors that affect the quality of BRT systems.Only the suitable BRT systems can solve the urban transport issues and alleviate the increasing traffic demands from citizens.In this background,this paper aims to evaluate the service level of BRT systems and the conclusion would be helpful to the construction of BRT systems in the future.Firstly,based on the analysis of the relevant literatures on the research and the development of the domestic and foreign BRT systems,this paper builds the service level evaluation system of BRT by selecting the influential factors.The service evaluation system categorized the fourteen factors into five aspects: fastness,comfort,safety and reliability,convenience,economic characteristics.Secondly,from the perspective of the characteristic of the system itself,based on the Fuzzy Comprehensive Model,the model of analyzing the service level of BRT system was proposed.Then,from the point of view of passenger perception,another service level analyzing model was proposed based on the Structural Equation Model.Then,the empirical analysis of service level of Chengdu Bus Rapid Transit system was carried out by the two models through collecting the opinion from experts and passengers.Finally,according to the results of the two empirical analysis,the paper concludes the influence of the influential factors on the service level,then offers some advice for improvement of BRT.In this paper,writer focus on how to build BRT system which is suitable for current situation of domestic bus rapid transit systems,especially,the evaluation of service level was studied.Firstly,the past research of service level evaluation was rearranged and reorganized,then a related new service level evaluation system was build according to the current situation of domestic BRT.In addition,the comparative research approach is adopted to evaluate the service level of BRT from two different angle.Therefore,the paper has a certain theoretical and practical significance for research of domestic BRT system.
