Report About Bus Rapid Transit Program In Chongqing

This paper focus on a new kind of solution to the city transit in the development process of Chongqing City, this is called BUS RAPID TRANSIT, BRT for short. It is a new operating system between subway transit and regular transit and a flexible rapid transit way on the base of large capacity buses. The main direction of the research is BRT, this is a new kind of rapid operating system, and has been adopted in more than thirty countries, cities, areas all over the world. The system converge rapid bus stations, vechicle, pecial carriageway, service, operating mode and intelligent systems etc, all these constitute a general system with strong image and speciality.The content of my report is (1) Background of the project (2) Theory of bus rapid transit in the main district (3) Construction and operating of bus rapid transit line (4) Decision and analysis (5) Conclusion and suggestion (6) Supplement: the selection of bus rapid transit line in main Chongqing CityThe paper aimed at making full use of the transit resources of Chongqing City to form a rapid transit system with large capacity; reducing the unnecessary vechicles in main district, to release the traffic jam; decreasing the pollution and noise from the vechicle and promoting the development of bus produce .It can also strengthen the attraction and comfort of public transit, create a reasonable public transit system, attract more passengers to take bus /BRT system has the operating ability and service to approach subway transit system, and is a part of the city rapid transit system, they can influence and promote each other effectively.
