Research On The Development Of New Strategic Industries In Wujin District Of Changzhou

Since 2008, the outbreak of the financial crisis in the United States triggered a worldwide economic crisis and recession. The development of global industry has entered a new stage. Developing the new strategic industries has become an important strategic choice of enhance international competitiveness and seize the economic highland during the the post-financial crisis era. Cultivating and developing new strategic industries is related to the national interest and long-term development. This tends to readjust industrial structure,transform the mode of economic development,promote industrial transformation and upgrading and achieve sustainable leapfrog development of economy and society. Presently, new strategic industries are largely in the initial stage around the world. Market failure caused by natural monopolies, incomplete markets, asymmetric information and externality will have adverse effects on their development. The vigorous development of new strategic industries depends on the support and guidance of the government. It is necessary to reasonably position the role of the government and explore the mechanism of promoting industrial development by local government.Firstly, this paper analyzes the background of the current world economic development and the significance of promoting the new strategic industries. The emerging industry and the new strategic industries are clearly defined by digging further into theories and literature at home and abroad. Moreover, taking the development of new strategic industries in Wu Jin District of Chang Zhou as a pointcuts, the paper analyzes the existing achievements and problems in the development of new strategic industries.Finally, it provides several suggestions on Wujin district government to promote the development of new strategic industries, such as grasping the rule, scientific planning and layout, improve the system mechanism, creating a development environment, fostering industrial clusters, providing financial services and technical support.
