Research On The Relationship Between Network Embeddedness,Organizational Learning And Innovation Performance In The Background Of Open Innovation Of SMEs

Small and medium-sized enterprises(SMEs)are not only an important part of China's national economy but also a major participant in the market economy.It is the main subject of innovation in China and plays great important role in developing economy,optimizing the industrial structure,promoting reform,initiating the entrepreneurships and relieving the employment pressure.With the increasing of the technology complexity,resource mobility and the shortening of the product life cycle,it is difficult for enterprises,especially SMEs,to complete the whole innovation process from R&D to sales.The advantages of traditional closed innovation have gradually disappeared.The closed innovation can not meet the needs of SMEs and it was gradually replaced by open innovation paradigm.Open innovation is the important way for SMEs to overcome resource bottleneck and to establish their competitive advantages.The formation of innovation network is not only beneficial to realize complementary advantages between main actors,but also beneficial to maximize use of resources and avoid waste of resources.Open innovation requires SMEs to join in the regional innovation network with more open status.Through being embedded in the innovation network,SMEs can acquire various resources quickly and accurately.The more degree of network embeddedness for SMEs,the more possible it can acquire resources and grasp market changes,which help SMEs to improve innovation performance.On the other hand,it is necessary for an organization to transform an external resource into its own capacity through organizational learning.Organizational learning is an important source for enterprise to keep vitality.It need to be further analyzed and studied that the role SMEs plays in the mechanism of network embeddedness influencing innovation performance and it's function.Therefore,on the basis of reviewing relevant literatures at home and abroad,this paper aims at the small and medium sized manufacturing enterprises in JiangsuProvince,and explore the inherent mechanism of network embeddedness impacting on SMEs innovation performance through both theoretical analysis and empirical analysis.The main research contents are as follows:(1)summarizing the existing research development of open innovation,innovation network,network embeddedness and organizational learning which lay the theoretical foundation for this research;(2)based on the previous literatures,we put forward the relevant hypothesis and establish the theoretical model of network embeddedness promoting performance;with the purpose of this study and the object,we designed the measurement of relevant variable dimensions according to the existing scale at home and abroad;(3)collecting data through questionnaire,analyzing the collected data by statistical software such as SPSS18.0 and Amos21.0 and testing the hypothesis;(4)According to the results of empirical analysis,we put forward the corresponding countermeasures and suggestions on how to promote SMEs embedded into the regional innovation network and enhance the SMEs' learning ability from both the macro level and the micro level.The main conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)network embeddedness has a significant positive impact on innovation performance;relationship embeddedness and structural embeddedness have significant positive effects on innovation performance;(2)network embeddedness has a significant positive impact on organizational learning;The dimensions of network embeddedness have significant positive effect on the dimensions of organizational learning;(3)Organizational learning has a significant positive impact on innovation performance;The dimensions of organizational learning have significant positive effect on innovation performance;(4)Organizational learning partly plays as a mediator in the mechanism of structural embeddedness and relational embeddedness affecting innovation performance.
