Cooperation Between China And Thailand In The Field Of Rail Transit Equipment

The cooperation between China and Thailand in rail transit field are still under developing for the time being.Due to the slow development of the Thailand railway market,the rolling stock' maintenance is mostly relying on the manual work,which makes its maintenance level lies in China's 70 s or 80 s of last century.Thus,we can see the rail transit cooperation for Sino-Thai are mainly in infrastructure construction and rolling stock procurement,yet the rolling stock operation and maintenance which concerning safety mostly are still the Blue Ocean.China and Thailand are facing opportunities and challenges at the same time on the rail transit equipment field cooperation.The opportunities are mainly seen as supports coming from the national strategies such as “the Belt and Road” Initiative,good political and economic relations between Sino-Thai,national policy and financial support on rail transit construction from Thai government,the enormous domestic demand from Thai,the steadily rising economy of Thai,the rich experience in rail transit of Chinese enterprises and the cutting edges technologies' ' application in China.However,challenges are always coexisting with opportunities.The unpredictable political situation in Thai,the lower growth forecast of Thai economy,the fierce competition from international groups and the financing risks are the major challenges for Chinese enterprises.This paper holds that there is a bright prospect in the rail transit equipment field cooperation for China and Thailand.In order to promote the cooperation,this paper suggests that the Chinese enterprises should keep up with the national strategies,understand the local market,implement the localization management,choose the right partner and know the competitors well.Meanwhile,Chinese infrastructure construction companies,rolling stock manufacturing plants and maintenance equipment manufactures should work together on the overseas projects and build our own reputable “Made in China” brand in the rail transit field.
