An Investigation Into The Problems Of Huaian Municipal Public Transportation Services

Located in the northern part of Jiangsu Province,Huaian plays a critical central role in this area.However,its public transportation system as well as the service standards of this system are undeveloped.Thus,investigating into the problems of this transportation system will does a great help,both theoretically and practically,not only to improving this system,but also to economy boost and social harmony.This thesis starts from the service problems of Huaian municipal public transportation system.On the basis of bus priority theory,By researching and analyzing theories about public transportation system and its development strategies,this thesis has then depicted the present status of this city's public transportation system as well as the setbacks of it.The setbacks are as follows.First,conventional buses are in a dominant position.Second,the future development of bus system is not as aggressive as estimated.Third,land for bus station construction is not fully under control and there is a lack of the land.Last,bus service is not competitive and appealing enough.In the mean time,based on the “Five Guarantees”,which means policy,funding,land,technology and supervision guarantees,this thesis also puts forward some pieces of concrete and practical advice to optimize the city's municipal public transportation service system and strengthen its transportation managing ability as the central city of this area.By employing some scientific methods,like Documentary Research Method,Empirical Analysis Method,Survey Research Method and Comparative Study Method,it's believed that this thesis will be of use as a reference to raise the public transportation service level from the angle of city's common public transportation.Also,with the help of municipal public transportation research conclusions from home and abroad,and some first-hand public transportation information from social surveys conducted in Huaian,this thesis will also contribute to the construction of the Charming City and the elevation of local government's implementation capacity.
