Research On The Influencing Factors Of Localized Knowledge Spillover Based On Patent Technology

Over the past two decades,the geographical impact of knowledge spillovers is a very popular topic in the field of regional economy and intellectual property.There is no doubt that knowledge spillovers can have an impact on the development of different regions of the economy and technology.The research objects on knowledge spillovers are mostly developed economies in the past.This paper is a biotechnology industry in China such a cutting-edge industries in the emerging countries were studied,will be China's biotechnology patent data as the object of study.Analyze the influencing factors in the process of localized knowledge spillovers.With China's rapid development in recent years,real innovations are actually occurring in Chinese branches of multinational companies and Chinese companies.Localization of knowledge spillovers in developing country of China becomes more and more common.Within this context,we attempt to look at the key drivers affecting the impact patents have exerted on subsequent technologies and the role of geography on this influence.We conducted an empirical analysis of 586 samples of Chinese biotechnology patents from 2004 to 2014.Selected six key patent features,there are Science Technology relation,Tech Breadth,Tech Scope,Claims,Joint Development and Novelty,to study its relationship with the influence of localized knowledge spillovers,and to conduct empirical analysis.Revealed that the Joint Development has negative relation with knowledge spillover geographical localization.While Science knowledge shows U relation with knowledge spillover across geographical borders.Tech Breadth,Tech Scope,Claims and Novelty generally do not significantly affect the impact of patent localization.Overall,we analyze the six key factors that help explain the impact of patents on localized knowledge spillovers.Especially Science Technology relation shows U relation with knowledge spillover across geographical borders.This means that within a certain limit,with the increase in the link between technology and science,more scientific knowledge will be transferred to the technical.More scientific knowledge will be transferred to the technology,interact more between industrial and scientific fields,the frontiers of knowledge will have a greater impact on subsequent technology,and for a longer period of time have a positive effect on regional development.
