Research On The Urban Comprehensive Carrying Capacity In The Urban Agglomerations Of Beijing,Tianjin And Hebei Provence

In the 21 st century,the urban economy has been developing rapidly.With the pace of urbanization continues to improve,a series of resources and environmental problems appears at the same time,such as population growth,land degradation,air pollution,depletion of natural resources,environmental degradation and so on.Most cities are facing tremendous capacity pressure.The Urban Agglomeration of Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei as the most concentrated distribution of the northern city,the highest level of development of urban agglomerations,occupies an important position in China's economic development.However,with the rapid growth of the regional economy,the stock of natural resources in the region is declining and the natural environmental is deteriorating.The shrinking of the urban comprehensive carrying capacity is becoming the main constraints to the urban agglomerations to achieve sustainable development.In this paper,the study object is the ten cities in the Urban Agglomeration of Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei.Based on the theory of sustainable development,regional economic development theory and the theory of comparative advantage,this paper takes the Entropy method as the basic method,then based on the current status of development and the characteristics of each city,established a comprehensive carrying capacity evaluation system which comprises 26 indicators innovatively and suitably.Using the principal component analysis method to determine the index weights with the help of SPSS software,in order to quantify the comprehensive carrying capacity,potential carrying capacity of city.The empirical research used the results to evaluate the comprehensive carrying capacity of each city in Urban Agglomeration of Beijing,Tianjin and Hebei in the year of 2013.The results of empirical research has found that: all the cities' comprehensive carrying capacity had beyond their ideal states except Beijing.In order to find the cause of the difference of the urban comprehensive carrying capacity in different city,with the help of SPSS software,we take the method of Hierarchical Cluster Analysis to divide the 10 city into 4 grades.Region I: Beijing;Region II: Cangzhou;Region III: Tianjin,Qinhuang Dao,Chengde,Langfang,Baoding,Zhangjia Kou;Region IV: Shijia Zhuang,Tangshan.At last,combined with the results of empirical research,this paper proposed several policy recommendations to improve the city's comprehensive carrying capacity.
