Sustainable Development Study In Guangdong Province Based On Relative Carrying Capacity Of Resources

Sustainable development satisfies the current needs without compromising the ability to meet the needs of future generations. It is an economic growth mode which pays attention to long-term development. Contemporary resource and environmental problems have become increasingly prominent and posed a severe challenge to human. Relative carrying capacity of resources characterizes the quantity and quality of existing resources in the study area relative to the reference area in a certain period. It is the support to essential living and development of the population in the space and an important manifestation of sustainable development.The related theories about sustainable development and relative carrying capacity of resources were described firstly in this paper. Based on the absorption of related research findings, the calculation model of relative carrying capacity of resources measuring regional sustainable development was improved and then used the improved model, the relative carrying capacity of Guangdong Province was studied and analyzed and the differences between Guangdong Province and Shandong Province and the regions of Guangdong Province was compared. Then sustainable development problems in Guangdong Province were found and on this basis, the corresponding countermeasures were put forward.The results showed that the main problems of the sustainable development faced by Guangdong Province were:1) the relative carrying capacity of natural resources was seriously overloaded, and the rapid population growth highlighted the resource bottleneck;2)the mode of economic growth was extensive, and environmental protection was separated from economic development3) the relative carrying capacities of resources lacked coordination and regional differences were significant. Withal the relevant measures were proposed:1)the use of resources should be scientific and rational,and the relative carrying capacity of natural resources should be stable;2) the mode of economic growth should be transformed, the cyclic economy should be vigorously developed, and the relative carrying capacity of economic resources should be raised;3)the education and training should be strengthened, the human resource should be developed, and the relative carrying capacity of social resources should be enhanced;4) a reasonable spatial structure should be set up, and the balanced regional development should be promoted.
