Research On Recycle And Extended Warranty Channel Design In The Remanufacturing Closed-loop Supply Chain

In the 21 st century,the global economic steps into the new stage of sustainable development.To solve the problem of growing product waste,the system of "extended producer responsibility" was introduced into global manufacturing industry.A large number of enterprises are devoted to developing environmental friendly remanufacturing economy.Whereas,struggling with terminal sales dilemma,the current remanufacturing industry in China is still in its initial stage.For the market promotion and industry development of remanufacturing,extended warranty service for remanufacturing CLSC is concerned in this dissertation.By building decentralized decision-making models in a closed-loop supply chain consisting of a manufacturer,a retailer(and an independent third party may act as recycler),the market performance of remanufactured products is investigated under different options for used-product collection and extended warranty service.In addition,the thesis provides guidelines for the optimal recycling channel design and warranty offering options on different stages of remanufacturing market with extended warranty services.The results show that,the optimal reverse channel design depends on the collection fee in two stages of recycling set by manufacturer and retailer(when she acts as the recycler).With a high terminal recycling price,the retailer-recycling model is suggested to better enhance the sales and profits of remanufactured products.Because of the changing goal setting throughout remanufacturing industry development,the optimal sales option of extended warranty service varies under different scenarios.As for promoting market sales of remanufactured products,the manufacturer does a more effective job as a warranty service provider in the early stage to offer differential extended warranty services for new and remanufactured products.Whereas,with warranty market for remanufacturing industry maturing gradually,the retailer-provider is more outstanding pursuing for high industry profits.Besides,by implementing subsidy mechanisms in recycling activities,the government may adjust the structure design of remanufacturing CLSC,and improve supply chain profits further as well.Inspired by the current market operation of remanufacturing CLSC and extended warranty service,the thesis provides guidelines for EW provider and subsidy establishment,proving academically valuable and practically significance.
