Research On Risk Management Of General Construction Contractors In International Projects

With the development of reform and opening-up,China's economic status in the world is increasing,has become the second largest economy in the world.It has become the consensus of many countries that the China's economic is making great impact on the world's economic.In recent years,the construction of Economic Development Zone in China has made considerable progress and development attracting large amount of foreign enterprises to make investment in China and develop together with China.Under this historical background,it is very common and easy to see the international project invested by foreign companies and built by Chinese Construction Company in China's economic and development district.However,although it seems international projects are making a high profit market;high returns inevitably means high risk.In addition to having disposable characteristics,this international project is always entitled with tight schedule,big contract amount,high quality and safety requirement and long period of equipment procurement which result high risk for company business and management.Moreover,the general contractor construction company who carries out the project shall the responsible for the quality and time schedule of the project which matters a lot for the client and also company's own cost and reputation.It can be seen that the risk management of construction contractor is closely related to the success of the project.Therefore,it is necessary to study the risk factors management for general construction company in the international projects so as to strengthen international project management ability for general construction company,improve project management level,and to minimize the possibility of failure of the project.Based on the above background,through reading lots of literatures,studying the characteristics of the international investment projects and comprehensively applying Delphi method and other methods,the thesis summed up the main types of risks in international investment project.This thesis think that the influence of risk factors can be evaluated from three aspects which are project external risk factors,contract subject risk factors and project internal risk factors.Based on the three risk aspects,the thesis designed a system of risk assessment index for construction general contractor in international project,and then established a risk evaluation model based on fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method.Finally,by applying this model to the entire process of an automotive component project invested by an Italy company,the thesis find out the main risk factors the project is facing and raised proper control method.Based on the research on the risk management of international project for general contractor,the author aims to find a suitable risk management system,so as to improve the management efficiency of project.
