A Study On The Perception Of Climate Change And Livelihood Adaptation Of Farmers

Climate change is a recognized fact.The impact of climate change is huge,especially for the agricultural population based on natural resources.The impact of climate change on the livelihoods of agriculture and farmers has become an important area for scholars to study,and the Research on Impacts of climate change on farmers and farmers' livelihood adaptation to climate change in sustainable development.However,domestic research is mainly distributed in the northwest arid and semi-arid areas and southwest of agriculture,pastoral areas.Based on this,the article takes southeast coastal Chinese,East and the north of Fujian Province agricultural area as the sample investigation region.the sustainable livelihood theory based on the combination of regression analysis and structural equation model analysis of farmers' livelihood capital,farmers and farmers' livelihood adaptation to climate change perception between the structure relationship and its influencing factors,revealing the farmers'livelihoods under the background of climate change adaptation mechanism.Research shows:(1)the study area with 81.5%of the surveyed households accurately perceive the temperature rise,and consistent with the actual meteorological data statistics;farmers in the study area have different views on precipitation change,only 36.1%of respondents accurately perceived the fact that precipitation increased.Different regions(agricultural type)farmers have different views in the effects on climate change,climate change causes and perceived ways.the more farmers' human capital and financial capital,the stronger the perception of farmers,the more natural capital farmers'perception.The amount of labor(0.091),farmer education(0.095),distance from markets(0.27)had a significant positive correlation with the perception of farmers in the natural capital;farmers educational level(0.116)showed a significant positive correlation with the perception of farmers in the physical capital,and distance from markets(-0.155)and perception farmers in the physical capital has significant negative correlation.(2)the Zherong farmers' livelihood diversity index is the highest,Yanping farmers livelihood diversity index is the lowest,the most common livelihood strategy is to adjust the way of weeding,pyrethroid and local or migrant workers(in the county outside).The higher the physical capital and social capital,the stronger the adaptability to climate change.The head age(-0.131)was negatively correlated with passive adaptation ability.The level of Education(0.117)was positively correlated with passive adaptation ability.The number of migrant workers(0.227),distance from the market(0.154)and their participation in employment training(0.121)were positively correlated with farmers' adaptive ability.Household age(-0.114),average annual household income(-0.097)and farmer's adaptive capacity were significantly negatively correlated.(3)material capital and social capital have positive effects on the adaptability of farmers' livelihood.Each type of capital increases by more than 1 units,and farmers'livelihood adaptability increases by 0.21 and 0.23 units,respectively.However,the effect of natural capital and financial capital on Farmers' adaptive ability is indirect form.The internal mechanism of farmers' livelihood adaptation is affected by at least two aspects,on the one hand,it is directly affected by farmers' livelihood capital level;on the other hand,it is affected by farmers' climate change perception.There is sufficient reliability(90.3%)shows that to increase the understanding and awareness of climate change and its effects have a certain role in improving farmers' livelihood adaptability in dealing with the impact of climate change and adaptation to climate change.At the end of the paper,the shortage and related problems are discussed.And combined with the purpose of rural household livelihood adaptation research,as well as the characteristics of the transformation of urban and rural planning towards social development in the process of new type of urbanization,from the rural settlement system,industrial development and rural labor employment,infrastructure and human environment,environmental protection and social development oriented planning content,put forward:relying on 'new village' construction,integration of remote retail,to enhance cohesion of farmers.Relying on the characteristics of resources,develop green economy,to digest rural labor.Perfect infrastructure,improve the living environment.to improve the adaptability of farmers.Developing knowledge propaganda,preventing environmental pollution and ensuring the sustainable development of farmers' livelihood".
