With the accelerating process of economic globalization,the competition of automobile market was becoming increasingly fierce.Z company was a self-owned brand automobile company,and its annual output was more than 150,000.But influenced by the investment and models of the early stage,the design of its assembly lines was relatively simple,and the assembly lines had some problems,such as the process layout and logistics layout were unreasonable,the assembly lines had a low degree of flexibility,automation and modularization,the application of ergonomics was unreasonable,the logistics was unreasonable,too much inventory and long handling time and logistics route was unreasonable.The improvement of efficiency of the company's production and the diversity of models were restricted by these problems.So Z company exist great improvement space in the production process.Especially in recent years,the product structure of automobiles showed a multiplied development trend,the cycle of introducing new models was getting shorter,and the SUV and MPV hot market had formed.Establishing a flexible assembly line to meet the requirements of multi-model vehicle was very imminent.In order to promote the capacity of production line,lean production theory was used to upgrade the automobile assembly line of Z company in this paper.Firstly,by utilizing the theory of JIT and standardization and the experience of mature automobile assembly line,the main production line was dissected,so 3 Sub-assembly lines for modules was standed apart from the main production line.The 3 Sub-assembly Lines was door line,instrument panel line and front-end module line.Then,the process layout was optimized.Secondly,line balancing of the new process layout was optimized by the use of the line balance theory.Eventually,logistics layout,logistics route and material pulling mode was optimized on the basis of lean logistics concept.This reconstruction has a lot of influences on the assembly line,such as:(1)the flexibility of the assembly line was increased;(2)the efficiency was improved;(3)the line side inventory was decreased;(4)the plant logistics was clear,the ogistics distribution efficiency was improved,staff work intensity was reduced and the utilization of the plant space was maximized.So the effect of this reconstruction was affirmed.After upgraded,the manufacturing costs of Z company was reduced and the enterprise revenue was raised.Meanwhile it also has reference value for the upgrade of automobile assembly line of other companies.
