Survey Study On Problems And Development Prospect Of Small-tail Han Sheep In Wuwei

In recent years,large-scale and standardized breeding become the main direction of the husbandry industry development because of the implementation of preferential policies.Sheep cultivation is one of the most traditional industries in China which ranks first in the world.Small-tailed Han sheep is one of the most famous sheep breeds which receiving more and more attention from sheep producers in recent years for its characteristics.Such as high fecundity,simple breeding conditions,low investment,quick earnings and so on.The main purpose of this paper is surveying breeding status and problems of small-tailed Han sheep cultivation in Wuwei during the agricultural transformation period.Empirically investigate and analysise the small-tailed Han sheep breeding status based on the agricultural and rural development status quo in Wuwei.Discuss the current achivevments,problems,and shortcomings of small-tailed Han sheep husbandry industry.And finally,the countermeasures and suggestions on the industrialization development of sheep in Wuwei City were proposed.The main conclusions are as follows:1.Sheep breeding of Wuwei has developed rapidly in recent years.Breeding scale and production capacity has been greatly improved.More than 2145 pasture has been built as of 2016 which accounting for 65% of shelf breeding.The sheep breeding quantity was 527.93 million and lamb production was 30,600 tons,while slaughter rate reach 63.1%.2.Influenced by many factors such as the outbreak of PPR epidemic,the slowdown of economic development and the decline of the catering and entertainment consumer market.Sheep breeding industry has also been a huge impact.Mainly reflected in the following areas:(1)Price of lamb and live-sheep have dropped;(2)Lamb consumption decreased;(3)Sheep breeding benefits decline;(4)The total number of ewes decreased.3.The small-tail sheep breeding industry of Wuwei has achieved remarkable results for the high reproductive performance characteristics.Wuwei has many advantages on small-tail sheep breeding industry.Such as:(1)Adequate forage and fodder resources;(2)Adequate veterinary medicine and slaughter insurance.But there are also some shortcomings such as low survival rateof lamb and variety degradation.4.In view of the problems and shortcomings of Wuwei small-tail sheep breeding industry.Countermeasures and suggestions on industrial development including the following aspects:(1)Guide and support leading enterprises to speed up the construction of breeding bases;(2)Establish an enterprise + base + cooperative + farmers' industrial management mode;(3)Hybrids utilize the characteristics of Small Tail Han sheep breeds;(4)Enhance brand management.
