Soybean, which is one of the hightest openness agricultural crops in the international market, has a wide range of use and a great potential for industry development.Soybean trade is a complex economic system. The flow of soybean forms the international soybean trade network and it reflects the trade in soybean supply and demand changes. We can find complex internal relationships between trading countries throught the trade network and provide reference significance for the soybean market.Firstly,we find there are increasing through analyzes soybean production and trade in recent years.Paraguay, the United States and Brazil soybean have a strong market international competitiveness, while Chinese soybean is uncompetitive. Then,we build a network of international soybean trade in complex network theory and analyze the characteristics and evolution of the network topological based on soybean trade data from 1995 to 2014 years. The study shows soybean trade relations trend closely by measuring the node's degree and the graph density. The cumulative out-degree distribution obeys a powerlaw distribution and the network is a scale-free network where high-outdegree nodes such as China, the United States,Canada and India soybean have trade advantages. It has a lower clustering coefficient and a smaller average path length, which implies the network doesn't have small-world characteristics.Because degree correlation coefficient of the network is negative, the network is not the same kind of hybrid network in which high-degree nodes are widely distributed, and the trade network shows poor devastating resistance.Considering the quantity of trade as weight,we build the weighting network and analyze from the strength distribution, the weight disparity, and weighted clustering coefficient. The result shows that the strength distribution is scale-free and higher strength nodes such as the United States and Brazil have trade advantages. The weight disparity is uneven, few countries have large trade flows and most countries have small trade flows.Weighted clustering coefficient is lower. So the network dosen't reflect small-world characteristics. Finally, the paper summarizes all findings and give some policy recommendations that China should trade with more countries to reduce dependency on the minority countries and increase investment in soybean to strengthen control to the world soybean resources.
