Xperia C Mobile Phone Project Risk Management

Sony Mobile(Ltd.)is a traditional company who develop and sale mobile phone with complete project management process&guideline on company level.But,in reality the processes are not detailed and normative enough on project execution and operation level.Project risk manager just like kind of form rather than useful tool which lead to poor risk management level and risks were not enough identified&assessed.Referring to relevant theory of project risk management this dissertation would like to use Xperia C project of Sony Mobile as a good example,to research on its risk management procedure in order to help the project to have efficient risk management and help the company to improve its risk management in mobile phone development project base on the practice on this.This thesis will follow below sequence to elaborate the work here.Firstly will introduce the purpose and methodology of the study along with the history of project management and risk management.Then followed with basic introduction of Sony Mobile and Xperia C project & the necessity to have this research.Then will start to identify risks/evaluate risks with check list/expert/AHP method.The involvement of AHP method improved the quantitative level of risk evaluation.Finally risk response strategy and actions are provided base on severity of risks.The research and practices in this thesis folly proved that the project risk management theory can be implemented into the actual development project management of Sony Mobile so that to improve the specific project risk management quality.In the meanwhile,the risk assessment was enhanced with the involvement of AHP method which lead to objective and precise quantitative risk assessment.All these outcome will provide useful practices to the future project risk management of this company.
