High-pressure abrasive water jet(AWJ)cutting is a new kind of materials processing technology which develops rapidly at home and abroad in the last Century 1970s.With process adaptability,incision of good quality,cold machining,and environmental protection,has been widely used in a number of areas with the development of national economy.Currently,Jet structure and Fragmentation mechanism study of Abrasive Water Jet are not special in-depth,which limit the widely applied of the abrasive jet cutting technology to a certain extent.To better use abrasive water jet technology,comprehensive research of Abrasive water jet cutting capacity needed to be done.Abrasive water jet cutting capacity mainly include Cutting surface quality,ximum cutting depth and Cutting efficiency.In this paper,based on the theory of AWJ,analysis Jet structure and basic properties of Hydromechanics;systemly research Jet structure and mixed theory of abrasive particles by movement multiphase flow and theory of particle kinetic energy,the same time classifing the analysis and discussion;abrasive water jet removal mechanism:analysis jet on hard and brittle materials to damage effects;Hard and brittle materials are impact damaged and cracked by abrasive particles.On the basis of theoretical studies,pick typical hard and brittle materials that contains Granite and Jilin White to conduct cut test and employ SEM Photoes,and carry out analysis at theory.At cutting depth by High pressure abrasive water jet,we analysis the factors such as jet pressure,cutting speed,target distance and abrasive flow rate on hard and brittle materials by using of single-fact or test method.The results show that jet pressure and cutting speed are the most important factors affecting the maximum cutting depth.At processing efficiency by high pressure abrasive water jet:establish of orthogonal experiment,analysis with the results of the test data the range and variance,the results show that Hard and brittle materials such as Granite and Jilin White,cutting speed is the most significant factor on the cutting efficiency;to different hardness of different materials,the cutting speed depend on the jet pressure,so jet pressure is the important factor behind the cutting speed,target distance and abrasive flow rate have weak influence on optimization goals,we pick out smaller abrasive flow rate to save the cast.Combined with orthogonal experiment data,establish the cutting efficiency empirical model by regression Analysis and examine the cutting efficiency empirical model by F and R Test.This paper made six experiments which proved that the theoretical predicted by the empirical model is good agreement with the experimental result,and that have significance of production and processing.
