Virtual reality(VR)is a technology that uses computer technology and hardware resources to simulate and generate a three-dimensional virtual reality that can provide users with a very realistic experience,it allows users to interact with objects in virtual scenes.Its appearance is gradually changing people's lives,making it a very important development direction.Nowadays,the basic methods and theories of virtual reality have been relatively mature and have been applied to various areas.Because virtual reality technology can solve the problems encountered in product development in time before it actually goes into production,it can effectively reduce errors and improve manufacturing efficiency.Therefore,it is involved in engineering fields such as product design,manufacturing,assembly,workshop management,process simulation,production planning,training,testing and verification.Virtual assembly technology is actually a combination of virtual reality technology and traditional assembly technology.Due to the assembly is a key link in product manufacturing,and the rapid development of virtual reality technology in recent years,virtual assembly has gradually become the research hotspot of various enterprises and institutions,has received more and more attention.This research analyzes and contrasts several mainstream virtual reality production engines and virtual reality hardware devices,using Unity3 d engine and the HTC VIVE equipment,applying virtual reality technology in the field of assembly,produced gear reducer virtual assembly system.The research work includes the three-dimensional modeling of the gear reducer,the assembly process analysis and technical points,the construction of the virtual environment,the recording of the assembly and disassembly animation as well as the design,implementation and optimization of the system.The assembly system is programmed with C# language,which includes three modules: navigation module,learning module and training module.Considering that this system can be used to train factory workers for assembly and maintenance,learning modules and training modules include assembly learning and training,disassembly learning and training.The navigation module guides workers to switch between scenes,the learning module helps workers learn the disassembly and assembly process of gear reducer,and the training module is trained to assemble and disassemble by workers independently.In order to make the interaction between workers and the virtual environment smoother and more realistic,the system uses Unity3d's UGUI system to create the user interface,and has recorded a large number of animations of the gear reducer parts in advance to perform animated simulations when necessary,and has also added tactile feedback and various operating tips.The paper has completed the development of the gear reducer virtual assembly system,and realized the application of virtual reality technology combined with traditional assembly technology in education and training,and studied and optimized the virtual assembly positioning method and virtual assembly process used in the system,make the virtual assembly more accurate and efficient,better simulation results.
