Laser processing has found extensive application in machining the key components in aeronautics,astronautics,shipbuilding and other industries for its advantages such as comprehensive material applicability,high flexibility,efficiency and precision,at the same time,the development is focusing on openness in architecture,multi-axis in dimension,integration of functions,automation in focus control and intelligence in machining process.However China is lagging behind the international advanced level in laser processing technology,specific performance is the lack of high-end CNC of laser machining,high-power lasers,micro laser processing equipment and the lack of reach of laser processing technology.With the control system as an example,at prestent,most of the domestic control system used by the laser processing machine is still foreign proprietary and closed CNC used by general machine tools.so development of domestic-patented high-performance laser machining systems would greatly promote not only the laser machining industry and the equipment manufacturing industry but also aeronautics,astronautics,national defense and civil industry.This paper determines the composition and structure of the laser cutting equipment,adopts an "NC embedded in PC" solution to contruct the dual-CPU CNC system with a host industrial PC and a programmable multi-axis motion controller DMC1856;divides the system control software into different functional modules with modular design concept.The traditional interpolation mode is achieved with two-character command system of DMC1856,aiming at the problem that the machining path of space free curve can not be directly interpolated,the dual Non uniform rational B spline(NURBS)curve interpolation algorithm is proposed,dual NURBS curve instruction format and model building process is analyzed in-depth.Instruction parsing process and achieving dual-NURBS interpolation process with LM,LI and other two-character command are elaborated,solving the associated small line segment and corresponding speed optimization calculation are described.The Dual-NURBS interpolation algorithm is simulated with MATLAB to verify its correctness and validity.The each module of platform was developed with the C#high-level language and the DMCdNet.dll dynamic link library in the visual studio development environment,including NC code editing module,parameter setting module,processing path displaying module,coordinate position real-time displaying module,Jog module,MDI module etc,in order to improve user-friendly of control software,the I/O operation module which includes servo enable,opening laser,starting gas supply system,opening cooling system etc and friendly HMI were designed.
