Study On Traditional Decoration Technology And Restoration Of Modern Women's Wear

Through the study and restoration of the traditional decoration technology of modern women's wear,the characteristics and inner essence of the traditional decoration technology in the garment between 1840 and 1949 were discovered.Its manufacturing methods and the techniques involved were different from the modern industrial garment technology,It provides reasonable basis for the inheritance of traditional dress culture and the reference of modern dress design and production.From the perspective of traditional handicraft production,this paper relying on the folk costumes Museum of Jiangnan University,takes 182 modern folk coat and Sweater,45 modern folk gown,20 modern folk vest and 68 modern folk skirt as the main research objects collected from all over the country.By measuring,observing and recording the characteristics of the traditional decoration process,and combining the records of relevant historical and database documents,this paper classifies and analyzes the characteristics of the traditional decoration process of modern women's wear in terms of category,decoration location,decoration form,decoration feature and modelling.Through the methods of induction,analysis and comparison,the methods and steps of making the traditional decoration process about Pair,Embedded,Ribbon and pleating process are emphatically analyzed,and the results are verified by the method of recovery experiment by restoring the experiment.The traditional decoration technology of modern women's wear mainly includes embroidery,inlay,rolling,pleat,buckle,etc.Some of these techniques are decorated in the garment alone,others are decorated in the form of various craft combinations,while the decoration position is mainly in the edge of the garment.The overall decorative pattern presents a regular symmetrical pattern,showing the characteristics of the balanced and orderly visual structure.By recording,classifying and researching the steps of the inserting,embedding,rolling and pleating,and restoring the various processes,it is found that each individual process contains a clever craft,and that the combination process is not a simple superposition of the individual processes,but rather a rearrangement and optimization.In addition,the selection of decorative materials,the combination of the sewing sequence,keeping the quality of the process production and so on have shown a certain skill.In the era of economic globalization,nationality has become the spirit and soul of garment design,and the return of artisan spirit in Chinese traditional decorative craft is urgently needed.
