Application And Comparation Of Four Risk Assessment Methods In Coating Manufacturing Enterprises

Objectives Four assessment models were used in two coatings production enterprises,to exploring the applicability of the risk assessment models,and to provide scientific basis for the health management of such industries and the formulation of relevant standards or norms.The four risk assessment models were EPA model,MOM model,ICMM model and the applicability of occupational hazard risk index evaluation model.Methods We used theories and methods of occupational health risk assessment,occupational epidemiology and occupational health care,based on the investigation and collection of the relevant data of the two coatings production enterprises,the four assessment models were used to evaluate the risk factors of occupational hazards in two enterprises and the evaluation results of four models were compared.Collected two enterprises occupational health examination data The accuracy and applicability of the assessment models are verified by comparing with the results of the assessment models.Results 1 The small decorative paint manufacturing enterprises had 99 people,including 49 production personnel,other personnel 50 people,the occupational hazard factors except noise he qualified rate was 100%,noise intensity of more than 80 d B(A)accounted for the proportion of 75%,of which 1 more than the occupational exposure limit.There were 2 suspected occupational hearing loss in the examination results.The medium-sized paint manufacturing enterprises had 328 people,including 130 production staff,198 other people.The passing rate of the occupational hazard factors was 100%,among which the noise intensity exceeded 80 d B(A)accounted for 65%;the results of the physical examination were 7 suspected hearing loss personnel and 10 patients with stimulating symptoms.2 According to EPA,in the small enterprise,the toner who exposured to chromate were high risk of cancer,low risk of non-cancer,methanol and xylene were low non-cancer risk;in the medium-sized enterprise,chromium and its compounds were high cancer risk and high non-cancer risk,the sewage treatment who exposed to hydrogen sulfide were high risk of non-cancer,the people who millering and oily toner contact with toluene for high non carcinogenic risk,oily premix,oily and oily packers contact with a low risk of non cancer,all of the post-contact xylene for high non-cancer risk,all the positions in contact with methanol for low risk of cancer.The MOM model evaluates small businesses,toner-exposed chromate,oily-painter and oily packers contact xylene,oilypainter,and water-based painter-contact dust assessment results are low risk,and other post risk factors are negligible risk rating;the limestone dust and other dusts exposed by the water-based premixed workers are negligible risks,oily premix and oily sand miller contact with methanol,acetone and ethyl acetate for negligible risk,oily toner contact with methanol,ethyl acetate aluminum metal dust and other dust risk levels are negligible risk,the risk factors of oily packers exposure are negligible,while those of other occupational hazard factors are low risk.ICMM model quantitative evaluation of small enterprises,toner contact with chromate for very high risk,oily system painter,water-based painter,oily packers and water-based Packers contact the level of noise risk is unacceptable risk,the risk level of other post hazards is the potential risk;evaluation of medium-sized enterprises,water-based premix contact Silica dust(dust),oily premix contact talc dust(dust),forklift workers contact noise and water-based packer contact noise are unacceptable risks,water-based batching workers,water-based premix,oily premix,oily sand miller,oily mixing,oily toner,oily packers,sewage treatment workers,equipment engineers and water-based toner contact noise are very high risk,oily sand miller contact with xylene,oily toner contact with toluene,xylene are very high risk,other hazard factors risk levels are negligible risk.ICMM model matrix method evaluates small enterprises,oily system painter,water-based painter and oily packers contact the noise risk level is low risk,water-based packer contact noise is medium risk,other post risk factors of risks rank for no risk or very low risk;evaluate midsize enterprises,oily premix contact talc dust(dust),oily sand miller contact xylene and oily toner contact xylene are medium risk,water-based workshop and oily workshop contact noise are low risk,oily premix contact xylene,oily sand Miller contact toluene,oily toner contact toluene and acetone are low risk,The results of other occupational hazard assessment were no risk or very low risk.The risk index method evaluates small businesses,toner contact with chromate,oily system painter,water-based painter and oily packers contact the noise risk levels are mild hazards,waterbased packers contact the noise risk level for moderate hazard,other types of job occupational hazards risk levels are no harm;evaluate medium-sized enterprises,the noise of the water shop contact is moderate hazard,oily premix contact chromium and its compounds,lead and its compounds and noise,oily sand miller contact with xylene and noise,oily diluted workers contact noise,oily toner contact with toluene,xylene and noise,oily packers contact noise,forklift workers,the level of noise risk in contact of sewage treatment workers and equipment engineers is mild,and the risk levels of other occupational hazard factors are all harmless.The evaluation results of four evaluation models were consistent,among which the ICMM model was more rigorous.The results of the four evaluations were in agreement with those of the physical examination data.Conclusions MOM model,the ICMM model of matrix method and occupational hazard risk index evaluation model can be applied to the risk assessment of medium and smallsized enterprises;there are many occupational hazard factors in paint manufacturing enterprises,MOM model,the ICMM model of matrix method and occupational hazard risk index evaluation model can be applied to risk assessment of coatings industry and guide enterprise health management;the EPA model has guiding role in revising the standard of hazardous factors in coatings industry.
