As long as the development of economic and acceleration of urbanization, the safety of drinking water is becoming a public issue, customers are willing to select the water-saving and safe sanitary ware products much more than before.Sine lacking of supervision and inspection in China market,it is hard for customers to buy the really good products. Therefore,it is very important to develop research on water saving performance and environmental friendly. The representative domestic sanitary ware products which are intended to North America market were selected to test and evaluate on water-saving and lead-release.Then the differences of supervision system between China and foreign countries were discussed. The main conclusions are as following,(1)Shower head, faucet and toilet were selected as typical product to be tested and evaluated according to the United States standard on flow rate and additional performance test requirements. The results showed: Shower head equipped with flow restrictor were found complied with the flow rate requirements of less than 7.6 L/min,as well as complied with the additional performance test requirements. The flow rate of faucets were well controlled under 4.5 L/min by equipped with aerators. The water consumption of all tested high efficiency toilet were less than 4.8 L,while the flushing performance shall be 350 g or more, complied with the standards. Some of the products used less than 4.5 L of water consumption. Therefore, all above selected typical sanitary ware products were proved to meet the requirements of the United States standards.(2)Ball valves and faucets were selected as typical sanitary ware products to tested and evaluated for lead release, according to the methods recommended by NSF.The lead release of the samples from three factories were in 0-9.09 ?g/L,one result exceeded 5 ?g/L.That probably caused by material specification and surface treatment process. The results for faucets showed, during the 19 day's immersion process, the trend of lead release was going down. The samples from different factories were ranged from 82.43-4.78 ?g/L down to 7.76-0.1 ?g/L,and the final evaluated values were all less than 5 ?g/L.Therefore,not all the above typical sanitary ware products complied with the lead release requirements of the United States standards. The above test results approved that those China factories focused on North America market are capable to manufacture the high level products with water saving and lead release control.By comparing the supervision systems in China and the United States and Australia, suggested to drive the industrial for innovation by continuously upgrading on product standards,to reach higher environmental friendly requirements by adapting new material and new designs, enhance the inspection and supervision system to make sure only the products complied with standards could be on boarded to market.
