Micro-grinding processing technology is a kind of precision processing method,which use the wheel with ultra-fine particles for micro-nano mechanical removal of workpiece surface.It can achieve the high-quality surface machining of high-hardness,high-strength hard brittle material micro-parts or micro-structures.And it has played an important role in aerospace,defense industry,microelectronics industry,modern medicine and biotechnology industries,etc.Micro-grinding force is an important part of micro-grinding study.However,the current theoretical and simulation studies of micro-grinding forces are mostly based on single abrasive particle.There is less research about grinding force based on multiple abrasive particles model.Therefore,in this paper,we mainly study the vertical micro-grinding modeling method considering multiple abrasive grains.The main research contents are as follows:1.Analyzing the micro-grinding mechanism of hard and brittle materials.The principle of vertical micro-grinding,three material-removing methods during micro-grinding of hard and brittle materials,and the critical depth of methods-switching are introduced.2.Building the vertical micro-grinding force theory prediction model.Starting from the single-abrasive-particle-based micro-grinding,we obtain the grinding force prediction model combined with the dynamic cutting edge-grinding density model.3.Finite element simulation of single-abrasive-particle-based micro-grinding of hard and brittle materials.We verify the removing method of single abrasive grains in Chapter 2.The influence of the plow-force on the material deformation and the influence of friction and grinding depth on grinding force during the micro-grinding process are mainly studied.It lays the foundation for multi-abrasive grinding model research.4.Using ABAQUS software to build multi-abrasive particle grinding force model.We let the abrasive particles randomly distribute on the surface of the grinding rod.In the case of constant micro-grinding rod speed,the effect of cutting depth and the feed speed of microgrinding rod on grinding force is simulated,and the reason is analyzed.At the same time,we verify the feasibility of the theoretical model and the simulation model by comparing simulation results with the predictions obtained from the theoretical model and the experimental results.In this paper,we proposed the research work from theory to finite element analysis modeling.It provides some experiences for the research of multi-abrasive-particle-based vertical microgrinding.It also lays a foundation for the future simulation-based research on micro-grinding force.
