| The 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China stressed that we should speed up reform of the system for developing an ecological civilization, and building a beautiful China. It requires an environmental governance system which is government-led,enterprise-oriented with the participation of social organizations and the public. At present,in the process of rural environmental governance, the absence of government is serious. It’s particularly important to improve the participation of farmers in environmental governance.Environmental governance is a matter of public affairs.Relevant studies show that the villagers will face the"collective action dilemma"in the process of public affairs participation, while existing studies have not conducted systematic research on garbage classification from the perspective of collective action. Therefore, based on the perspective of collective action, this paper focuses on the structural characteristics of individual social network, studies the impact of social network and subjective class status on villagers’garbage classification behavior. What’s more this paper explores the impact mechanism of social network and subjective class status on villagers’collective action participation further. The research aims to solve the following problems:(1)Is the social network structure an important factor affecting the garbage classification behavior?(2)Is the subjective class status an important factor affecting the garbage classification behavior?(3)What is the mechanism of the social network structure and the subjective class status on the garbage classification behavior? This paper proposes the research hypothesis through literature review and theoretical model construction, and verifies the research hypothesis through field research and data acquisition combined with empirical analysis. The data was based on 1,100 questionnaires obtained from the author’s field research, and 1069 valid questionnaires were obtained through screening. In this paper, reliability and validity analysis, correlation analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis and robustness test were carried out for these effective data, and the conclusion of this paper was finally obtained. The study finds that social network and subjective class status not only havean impact on garbage classification behavior, more importantly, the study also finds that the two play an intermediary role in the impact of garbage classification behavior. The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)The larger the social network scale of villagers, the higher the garbage classification level.(2)The stronger the centrality of villagers’social network(that is,they are in a more central position in the network),the higher the garbage classification level.(3)The greater the density of villagers’social networks, the higher the garbage classification level.(4)The higher the subjective stratum status of villagers is,the higher the garbage classification level.(5)Subjective class status and social network scale play an intermediary role in the influence of garbage classification behavior.(6)Subjective class status and social network centrality play a partial intermediary role in the influence of garbage classification behavior.(7)Subjective class status and the density of social network play a partial intermediary role in the influence of garbage classification behavior. As a specific collective action, garbage classification behavior can be extended to collective action in a broad sense.Based on the previous literature and research results, the study believes that the social network, the status of the subjective class and the collective action of the villagers are closely related. Therefore, the research suggests that building a new rural social network and improving the subjective status of villagers to increase the enthusiasm of villagers to participate in collective action can improve the performance of rural public affairs governance and further promote the development of rural society. The research in is a new exploration of the influencing factors of traditional garbage classification behavior. The analysis of villagers’garbage classification from the perspective of collective action is conducive to solving the"collective action dilemma",so as to fundamentally solve the existing problems of rural garbage management.Secondly, the social network analysis is no longer limited to the social characteristics of an individual but focuses on the relationship between individuals.Based on the social network analysis, this paper discusses the relationship between a series of network structure features such as the network size, center degree and density and collective action, which provides a new observation perspective for individuals to participate in collective environmental behavior and further enriches the collective action theory. In addition, the research results for rural collective action also has a certain reference value to the other, through the influence factors of garbage sorting behavior, and then sums up the impact of social network and the subjective class status on the villagers’collective action to participate. It’s conducive to promote the healthy development of the rural collective action and realize the modernization of the rural governance. |
