The effect of carbon black and carbon nanotubes on the properties of eucommia ulmoides gum(EUG)and epoxidized eucommia ulmoides gum(EEUG)were researched in this work.The effects of carbon black and carbon nanotubes contents on electromagnetic shielding properties of composites were investigated.We can find the regularity of their change.It is important of the development of high performance eucommia ulmoides gum electromagnetic material.Conductive carbon black/eucommia ulmoides gum(CCB/EUG)and conductive carbon black/natural rubber(CCB/NR)composites were prepared by mechanical blending with the same 40 phr CCB loaded.The results showed that the electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of CCB/EUG composites was higher than CCB/NR composites.The Payne effect of CCB/EUG composites was smaller than CCB/NR composites.The CCB were well dispersed in the EUG matrix.Conductive carbon black/eucommia ulmoides gum(CCB/EUG)and carbon nanotubes/eucommia ulmoides gum(CNTs/EUG)composites were prepared by mechanical blending.The electrical conductivity,electromagnetic shielding properties,mechanical properties,Payne effect of the composites were tested.The results showed that the electrical conductivity of CCB/EUG and CNTs/EUG composites was increased with the increasing of CCB and CNTs content.The electrical conductivity well agrees with the conductivity percolation behavior.The Payne effect of CCB/EUG and CNTs/EUG composites was larger and larger with the increasing CCB and CNTs content,which leaded to forming a complete conductivity network.The electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of CCB/EUG and CNTs/EUG composites was increased with the increasing of CCB and CNTs content,and reached 33.2dB and 51.3dB respectively when 20 phr CCB and 20 phr CNTs was loaded.Carbon nanotubes/epoxidized eucommia ulmoides gum(CNTs/EEUG)composites were prepared by mechanical blending.The electrical conductivity,electromagnetic shielding properties,mechanical properties,Payne effect,crystallization performance of the composites were tested.The results showed that the electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of CNTs/EEUG composites was increased with the increasing of CNTs content.The Payne effect of CNTs/EEUG composites was larger and larger with the increasing CNTs content.The electrical conductivity and electromagnetic interference shielding effectiveness of CNTs/EEUG composites was less than CNTs/EUG composites.Due to the large polarity of CNTs/EEUG composites,the CNTs were not well dispersed in the EEUG matrix.
