The nylon/cotton blended fabric not only has the breathability and comfort of cotton fiber,but also has the advantages of good moisture absorption and resilience of polyamide fiber and high strength and wear resistance.Therefore,nylon-cotton blended fabrics are widely recognized by consumers in the market.However,in the combustion process,the cotton in the nylon/cotton blend fabric will have a "stent effect".The formation of droplets of the polyamide fiber in the combustion process can not drop down,and the heat can not be taken away in time,will increase the duration of combustion.Therefore,durable flame-retardant finishing of nylon/cotton blend fabrics is more difficult than that of cotton fabrics.Most of the previous Nylon blended fabrics used Proban flame retardant finishing process to achieve better flame retardant effect,but due to the odor of the process during the process,the air pollution,and the need for specialized equipment,process complexity,in the production process gradually eliminated.At present,the use of phosphorus and nitrogen composite flame retardant system is more common for flame-retardant finishing of blended fabrics.Phosphorus-nitrogen composite flame-retardant system does not contain halogen element itself,it will not release some toxic and harmful gases during combustion process,the material itself has good compatibility,and the phosphorus and nitrogen can generate synergistic effects between the two elements,and can obtain better.The flame-retardant effect has been widely used in the flame retardant finishing of textiles in recent years.In this dissertation,phosphorus-based flame retardant FR was synthesized using phosphorus pentoxide,dimethyl methyl phosphonate,ethylene glycol and ethylene oxide as raw materials.The structure of the target compound was tested and characterized by means of phosphorus content,IR,GPC and hydroxyl value of the acid value.This topic focuses on the flame retardant finishing process of three different blended ratios of nylon and cotton fabrics,including the amount of flame retardant FR,the amount of flame retardant synergist,the amount and choice of softener,baking temperature and time.Effects on the flame retardancy,physical and mechanical properties,and hand feel of fabrics,and free formaldehyde on fabrics after flame retardant finishing.Through inquiring and experimenting,we finally got a more optimized process and conditions.Under the optimized flame retardant finishing conditions,the length of the carbon fibers of cotton/ nylon 88/12 fabrics after flame retardant finishing and burning can reach 8.9cm,and the length of carbon fibers of cotton/ nylon 70/30 fabrics after flame retardant finishing and burning can reach 9.1cm.The charcoal length of the fabric can be controlled within 10 cm,there is no continuous combustion and smoldering phenomenon,and still maintain good flame retardant properties after 100 times of textile household washing.cotton/ nylon 50/50 fabrics are fire-retardant,and the charcoal length is up to 13.6cm.There is no smoldering phenomenon after continuous combustion.After 100 times of textile household washing,the flame retardant properties are still maintained.After the optimized flame-retardant finishing process,the physical and mechanical properties and feel of the fabric can also maintain a good level.Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the three kinds of fabrics after flame-retardant finishing,the thermal decomposition temperature is reduced,the amount of residual carbon has increased.Scanning electron microscopy can also clearly observe that the char layer formed by combustion of the flame-retardant fabric is more pronounced and the fiber structure is more complete.The flame retardant system mainly achieves the flame retardant effect through the combined action of the flame retardant mechanism such as condensed phase flame retardant,gas phase flame retardant and cover layer action.
