Research On The Impact Of Environmental Regulation On Industrial Structure Adjustment

At present,China's economy is in the key period of changing the mode of development,optimizing the economic structure and transforming the driving force of growth,and the problems of ecological environment pollution and resource poverty are becoming more and more severe.As a systematic project,environmental regulation can effectively resolve the "dilemma" between economic growth and environmental protection.Environmental regulation not only realizes the protection of ecological environment,but also brings a chain reaction to economic development and industrial structure,this kind of influence usually has two-sided characteristics.Therefore,it is of great significance to study the impact of environmental regulation on the adjustment of industrial structure.Firstly,this paper teases out and summarizes the existing literature and finds some shortcomings:(1)The measurement methods of industrial structure adjustment and the level of environmental regulation are not comprehensive or subjective;(2)The research perspective mainly focuses on the micro point of view,and there are a few analyses from the meso and macro perspectives;(3)Few scholars believe that the impact of environmental regulation on industrial structure adjustment is nonlinear.Secondly,this paper summarizes and refines the relevant theories and the action mechanism of environmental regulation and industrial structure adjustment,and sums up the present situation of environmental pollution,environmental regulation and industrial structure adjustment in our country from quite a few dimensions.It provides a theoretical basis for the following empirical test.Thirdly,this paper selects the panel data of 30 provinces and cities in China from 2002 to 2016,and uses the panel regression analysis method to explore the impact of different types of the measures of environmental regulation on the upgrading and rationalization of industrial structure.Additionally,using the empirical method of threshold regression,this paper takes the level of technological innovation as the threshold variable,and further explores the possible nonlinear relationship between environmental regulation and industrial structure adjustment.Finally,according to the theoretical research and empirical results of this paper,this paper puts forward the policy suggestions of accelerating the adjustment of industrial structure and achieving high-quality economic growth,improving the environmental regulation system and giving full play to the policy synergy,adjusting the foreign trade structure and improving the level of foreign investment introduction,encouraging environmental technological innovation and promoting the sustainable development of a green economy.To a certain extent,this paper makes up for the shortcomings of the existing research.For example,it measures the level of industrial structure adjustment from two aspects of industrial structure upgrading and rationalization,selects different types of the measures of environmental regulation to comprehensively measure the level of environmental regulation,and analyzes the impact of different measures of environmental regulatory on industrial structure adjustment.Nevertheless,due to the limitations of research data,methods and the author's own theoretical level,there are still some shortcomings in this study,which need to be constantly improved in the future research.
