As we pay more close attention to the PM3.3 these years,requirements for environmental protection are also ever increasing,sulfur recovery units are becoming indispensable parts in natural gas chemical plants and oil refineries,and the chemical process of extracting sulfur from acid gases containing H2 S has been developing rapidly.In China,the most popular way of recovering sulfur is through Claus process.Claus sulfur recovery process is widely used in energy industry especially natural gas chemical plants and oil refineries.As oil refinery capacity had been greatly increased in Sinopec Luoyang,there was a duo-system sulfur recovery unit with a capacity of 40 k tons/year(including waste gas recycle)built in 2011.With the operation of the unit,pollution has been greatly reduced.This dissertation firstly introduces the process features of 40 k tons/year sulfur recovery unit in SINOPEC LuoYang Branch,through which the combination method and functioning of DCS and SIS are explained-through the combination of complicated control,interlock protection and sequence control to complete sulfur recovery unit process control,and to achieve the following goals: large scale and long term operation,improving sulfur recovery rate,reducing plan-switch waiting time.The instrument of original I ? II set are both imperfection,which will bring about the security danger sooner or later.The new 40 K t/a set both promote the process and control method.This can serve as a model for similar complicated control system design in the future.
