With the continuous development of computer technology,CAD technology has been widely used in the field of foundry,and gradually transformed from two-dimensional CAD technology to three-dimensional CAD technology.However,two-dimensional casting process drawings still play an indispensable role in the process of dimension verification and docking between upstream and downstream enterprises because of their clear size expression and easy inspection.At present,the mainstream casting process CAD system in China usually only contains a single three-dimensional process design or two-dimensional process design function,which can not meet the overall needs of enterprises to carry out three-dimensional process design and obtain two-dimensional casting process drawings for dimensional inspection.Based on UG software as the secondary development platform,a CAD system for aluminium alloy casting process including three-dimensional process design and two-dimensional casting process drawings derivation and marking was developed.Based on the idea of process and modularization and the theoretical knowledge of foundry process design for aluminium alloy castings,the main frame of the CAD system for aluminium alloy casting process was built on the basis of UG Open API secondary development library and MFC program interface development framework.The key technologies such as dynamic addition of casting process CAD elements,establishment of process parameter database,parameter recommendation and information transfer between modules are also studied.Finally,a set of casting process CAD system for aluminium alloy is realized.The system consists of two subsystems: three-dimensional process planning and two-dimensional process planning.Three-dimensional process planning CAD mainly includes extracting casting information,parting surface,non-cast hole,processing allowance and dimension tolerance,chill system,gating system design,riser design and other modules.Two-dimensional process planning CAD mainly includes adding drawings,generating casting red blueprint,simple size automatic marking,casting special symbols marking and other modules.Finally,the CAD system of aluminium alloy process design in this study is applied to the process design of an aluminium alloy casting.The application results show that all the functional modules in the system cover the whole process of casting process design from three-dimensional process design to two-dimensional drawings derivation,dimensioning and finally obtaining casting red blueprint,which can meet the needs of enterprises for three-dimensional process design and rapid acquisition of corresponding two-dimensional process drawings,and improve the design speed of casting process system.
