With the rapid development of economy,domestically processed crude oil appears the tendency of heavier and lower quality.On the other hand,environment protection requirement is more stringent and requires increasing higher quality on light fuel oil like gasoline and diesel.China V standard for gasoline and diesel will be implemented comprehensively since 2017 and thus the contradiction between poorer quality feedstock and clean product is more and more prominent.Hydrogenation is a major process for oil product quality upgrading for refineries.With newly adding of hydrogenation unit,all large-scale refineries also perform revamping and expansion for their existing hydrogenation units,which causes ever increasing scale of hydrogenation production and ever increasing weight in processed crude oil.Energy source is essential for development of economy and social and is closely related to industry,agriculture,national defense and modernization of science and technology.With large population of China,low per capita energy resource and relatively lower energy utilization efficiency is common,energy reservation,emission reduction and energy consumption reduction has become an important task.Hydrotreating unit features with high temperature,high pressure and high energy consumption.Hydrotreating unit energy consumption level varies from one to another.Therefore,it is necessary to study and research the method.In this paper,hydrotreating unit is studied based on systematic energy conservation concept.Energy conservation and optimization measures are considered from the beginning of the design;analyzable three-link model is adopted for comprehensive energy utilization optimization,unreasonable issues and energy conservation potential could be found by comparing design energy consumption data with nominal energy consumption data of hydrotreating unit.After implementation of energy conservation measures,energy consumption of hydrotreating unit is dramatically reduced from its design value of 14.96 kgEO/t to 10.7 kgEO/t in its first operation year and then to 7.02 kgEO/t in its second operation year,with a reduction of 34.2% compared to last year.The accumulated energy consumption in its third year was 4.74 kgEO/t,another reduction of 32.4% with comparison to the previous year,and set a new record.Therefore,it could provide us with thoughts for energy conservation optimization for newly established and existing hydrotreating plants.
