Application Research Of Chinese Characters In New Chinese Furniture Design

Taking new Chinese furniture and Chinese character symbol as the research object,this paper makes a summary of the elements of the application of Chinese character symbol in new Chinese style furniture.Taking the design of chair as an example,the design flow of Chinese character symbol applied to new Chinese furniture is put forward in the process of design.Bright-style furniture represents the peak of furniture design in China and is recognized and influenced by many countries in the world.Because of the change of society,times,thought and so on,the concept of new Chinese furniture is put forward in our country to satisfy the people's life.However,it needs to be clear that the birth of the new Chinese-style furniture has been more than 20 years of history,representing that the new Chinese furniture of Chinese modern culture still has no great influence in the world.The reason why the new Chinese-style furniture can not occupy a place in the world today is that it can not reflect the cultural heritage of its own nation,especially the "characteristic culture" in the new-Chinese-style furniture.Chinese characters are the root of the Chinese nation and the most distinctive elements of the Chinese nation.At the same time,Chinese characters are also valuable wealth created by predecessors,and are the most widely used symbols in China.Prior to that,many experts and scholars have discussed the idea of combining Chinese characters with furniture,and produced a lot of design works,however,there has been no systematic way of thinking about the combination of Chinese characters and furniture so far.The culture of Chinese characters is extensive and profound.Based on the symbolic characteristics of Chinese characters,this paper discusses the application of Chinese characters' signifier(form)and signification(implicature)in new Chinese furniture.In the design process,the shape grammar is the main,and the Li Kete scaling method is used as the assistant.The overall design ideas are as follows: firstly,according to the application process of shape grammar,the basic form of shape grammar is established by Chinese characters.In addition,the energy index(shape)of Chinese character symbol is used as the divergence of two-dimensional form,and the abundant two-dimensional material database is created,and then the suitable materialis selected in the two-dimensional material base to be applied to the three-dimensional chair.Besides,through the Li Kete scaling method,the correlation between the Chinese character symbol and the image of the chair form is tested,and the image location of the chair is obtained through the analysis of the questionnaire.Therefore,starting from the Chinese character symbol,after rigorous process of chair shape and positioning analysis,the final output suitable for the positioning of the design works is obtained.In the end,using the Chinese characters "Nan" and "Dian" as the design elements,the design idea of the above-mentioned arrangement is used to design the chair to check the effectiveness of the design process.By the combination with the Chinese characters from inside to outside with the new Chinese furniture design,the Chinese characters symbols can be applied to the design of the new Chinese furniture more scientifically.It is hoped that this paper can come up with valuable opinions for the application of Chinese characters in new Chinese furniture,so that more experts and scholars can pay attention to the use of Chinese characters symbols.
