Since the reform and opening up,Zhejiang has realized a leap from a small resource province to a large economic province. It is one of the most active provinces in China's economy and has made important contributions to China's economic development.Exploring the relationship between economic development and resources and environment in Zhejiang Province in recent years can not only objectively summarize and evaluate Zhejiang's past economic development achievements, but also provide targeted suggestions for its future development. So this paper uses the ecological footprint model to evaluate the ecological occupancy of Zhejiang Province in recent years, and then puts forward suggestions for the future development of Zhejiang. In this paper, the three-dimensional ecological footprint model is used as the basic model of ecological footprint accounting in Zhejiang Province. At the same time, the model parameters are updated according to the specific situation of Zhejiang Province. On this basis, the ecological footprint of each city in Zhejiang Province from 2008 to 2017 was measured, and the current status of natural capital utilization in Zhejiang Province was evaluated in terms of footprint size, footprint depth,three-dimensional footprint, and sustainable use zoning. Finally, the fixed effects model is used to analyze the factors that affect the footprint depth of Zhejiang's.The results show that: the footprints size of the 11 cities shows a decreasing trend with time, and cultivated land has an important bearing effect on the breadth of the regional footprint; The footprint depth of each city is greater than 1,which is in an ecological deficit state, and the energy footprint has caused a large deficit gap;The basic pattern of the three-dimensional ecological footprint is high in the north and low in the south, and fluctuates significantly with time in the north, and is relatively stable in the south;Zhejiang's sustainable zoning is divided into four categories: the first category(Zhoushan City)has the smallest ecological sustainable development capacity in the province. The second category(Wenzhou)has less ecological sustainability. The third category(Hangzhou City,Ningbo City,Huzhou City,Jiaxing City,Jinhua City,Taizhou City, and Luzhou City)has greater sustainable development capabilities. The fourth category(Lishui City,Shaoxing City)has the largest ecological sustainable development capacity in Zhejiang Province; The four factors of total population,GDP per capita, patents per 10,000 people, and water consumption per unit of GDP are positively related to the depth of per capita footprint. The urbanization rate has a reverse effect on the depth of footprint.
