Domestic large-scale refining and chemical integrated projects put into production gradually,which provide a large number of raw materials for the downstream industry.How to effectively make use of these petrochemical resources is an important research topic in front of us.It is one of the main ways to improve the efficiency of resource utilization to use cracked C5 fraction to produce C5 petroleum resin.C5 fraction is separated in this paper in order to synthesize high quality C5 petroleum resin.The components of C5 fraction are complex,and their boiling points are very close.It is difficult to separate them by conventional distillation method.We take advantage of heating dimerization to make cyclopentadiene converse to dicyclopentadiene,then separate piperylene and dicyclopentadiene from C5 fraction by distillation.Since dimethylformamide can change the relative volatility of isoprene and other components,Isoprene is extracted by extractive distillation.It is more difficult to separate and purify isopentene from raffinate.In this paper,isopentene reacts with methanol to form methyl tert amyl ether,then rectifies and purifies it,and then ether decomposition at high temperature,removes methanol by washing,finally obtain purity isopentene by transforming 2-methyl-1-butane into 2-methyl-2-butene in the presence of isomerization catalyst.In the synthesis of C5 petroleum resin,catalytic synthesis,thermal polymerization and hydrogenation are used to study the factors which affect the quality.For catalytic synthesis,diolefins can improve resin's softening point,but the color will deepen,what's more,Isoprene and dicyclopentadiene will make the color and melt viscosity deteriorate rapidly.Olefins can improve the color of the resin,but softening point will reduce.It is important to balance the amount of diolefins and olefins.In addition,styrene is added to the synthesis formula to modify C5 petroleum resin,and it can further improve resin's color,compatibility and thermal stability.For thermal polymerization,either increasing the amount of dicyclopentadiene or raising reaction temperature,or prolonging reaction time,will increase resin's molecular weight,and the softening point is improved.While increasing the amount of piperylene as well as the solvent,will decrease the molecular weight,and softening point decreased accordingly,but molecular weight distribution improved.Thermal polymerized resins usually have dark color,so hydrogenation modification is studied.Increasing the amount of nickel catalyst or enhancing hydrogen pressure is conducive to improving the depth of hydrogenation,and the color of resin tends to water white.Increasing temperature will speed up the reaction,however the equilibrium moves reversely,and the yellow index of resin decreases firstly,then rises again.Hydrogenated resin's softening point increases as well as the melting viscosity.By designing suitable synthesis pathways,two grades of C5 petoleum resins are developed,which are against ExxonMobil' light color C5 petroleum resin E-2203LC and water white C5 petroleum resin E-5300.It is not only the research result of this paper,but also the further test of the experimental conclusion.It also has certain reference significance for the development of other kinds of petroleum resin products.
