The rapid development of China's economy and the deepening of urbanization depend on the extensive development model. In order to achieve the carbon emission reduction target,as one of the pillar industries of China's economy, construction industry, which is highly related to urbanization development and has high energy consumption and high emission, must be the key object of emission reduction.Given the uneven economic development among different regions in China and the huge gap in urbanization levels between different regions,it is not fair to set carbon emission reduction targets and tasks for the construction industry. Therefore, this paper will study the carbon emission of construction industry based on different levels of urbanization. This paper firstly evaluates the urbanization level of 31 provincial administrative units in China by cluster analysis according to the per capita GDP ratio of urban population and other indicators, and then divides the urbanization level into regions of high, medium and low level. Then,on this basis, the accounting analysis of the carbon emissions of the construction industry was carried out,and the decomposition analysis of the influencing factors and the analysis of the characteristics of regional transfer were carried out,so as to discuss the evolution law of the carbon emissions of the construction industry in China with the urbanization process from 2010 to 2017,and put forward policy Suggestions accordingly. The research results of this paper is as follows:(1)China's construction industry carbon emissions have obvious regional concentration characteristics, and the concentration effect is gradually enhanced. In terms of total carbon emission and per capita carbon emission intensity of construction industry, there is a big difference between Class I region and other regions.Class I region gradually tends to be flat, while Class II and III region still have a very large room for growth.Where, per capita carbon emission intensity value of class I > and class II > and class III indicates that this index is positively correlated with the level of urbanization.(2)On the whole, energy intensity and economic output are the most important influencing factors of carbon emissions in China's construction industry, among which energy intensity has a inhibitory effect and economic output has a promoting effect. The increase of urban population has a positive effect on the carbon emission of construction industry, but its influence is limited. From the regional perspective, for class I regions, the most influential factors are energy structure(negative),energy intensity(negative)and economic output(positive),which have an overall inhibitory effect. For class II regions, the mostinfluential factors are energy intensity(negative)and economic output(positive),which are generally promoting, but the effect gradually weakens. For class III regions, the most influential factors are energy intensity(negative)and urban population ratio(positive)economic output(positive),which have an overall promoting effect, and the effect is gradually increasing.(3)Fossil energy is the main source of carbon emission in China's construction industry.Among them, the proportion of coal consumption in class I and II areas gradually decreased, while that in category III areas remained stable.(4)During the period of investigation, the development of construction industry in different regions presents the characteristics of disequilibrium. The carbon emission of construction industry in class I and II regions generally shows the characteristics of outward transfer, while that of class III regions is vice versa.(5)When setting the carbon emission reduction target and responsibility allocation of the construction industry, not only the urbanization level of the place, but also the transfer between regions should be considered.Regions with low levels of urbanization but abundant energy resources should not be given too much responsibility for carbon emission reduction. For the regions with high urbanization level and the carbon emission of construction industry is transferred to the outside world, the carbon emission reduction responsibility can be appropriately tilted to them.
