In recent years,due to market policies and economic environment,the domestic home appliance industry has slowed down in a sustained downturn,but the kitchen appliance industry has emerged from it,the market scale has continued to expand,and the penetration rate has increased significantly compared with the overall home appliance industry.In the trend of the main battlefield of the home appliance industry gradually turning to the kitchen,the kitchen scene is gradually being divided by businesses and enterprises.This phenomenon not only provides users with diverse choices and meets individual needs,but also further aggravates the chaotic market disorder in the kitchen appliance industry,resulting in users having to face a complicated operating environment in the actual cooking experience.This thesis selects the cabinets in the Chinese family kitchen as the research object,and limits the scope of the research to the food preparation area that takes the longest time,has the most related appliances,and has the most complex user behavior.The purpose of the research is to build a complete food preparation system by applying systemized and modular design,using cabinets as carriers,to solve the problem of disorder in the storage,placement and use of kitchenware in the food preparation area.This thesis focuses on the home kitchen food preparation scene,dismantles the environment,people,things,and behaviors in it,studies the existing environment layout and related product attributes and characteristics,and records and analyzes the user's food preparation process in the form of field interviews.Real experience,draw users' pain points and needs,and establish systematic and modularization as the solution direction.On this basis,the elements,structure and functions of the cabinet system in the food preparation area are defined,the decomposition and reconstruction of the system is completed,and the design practice is carried out as a framework,a new cabinet concept is proposed and thephysical product is refined.The final product form is “table top + inner cabinet +wall”.The cabinet system in the food preparation area includes six parts: storage system,sink system,countertop system,multifunction system,water filtration system and power supply system.Each system is connected to the system platform in a modular form.The multifunction system covers most of the function of food disposal,solves the disorder of the separation of cabinets and kitchenware in the food preparation area.At the same time,the water and electricity of the entire meal preparation area are connected in series to form a system,which further optimizes the user's food preparation experience and improves the preparation efficiency.In the end,it also left direction and unlimited possibilities for the design of the future kitchen system built on this basis.
