With the rapid development of the economies,manufacturing industry is facing to the economic globalization,which has brought the fierce market competition.Customer demands are increasingly diversified and personalized.The traditional manufacturing mode has been very difficulied to adapt to the new demands of the production and processing,which has made reconfigurable manufacturing systems(Reconfigurable Manufacturing System,RMS) become a hotspot in the 21 st century.RMT(reconfigurable machine tools, RMT),an important part of the RMS,is one of the key equipments of reconfigurable manufacturing system and is a new generation of machine tools,which is designed according to the characteristics of parts.Structural design is an important part of RMT.Reasonable layout and structure of machine tool can achieve pre planning of motor function.In this paper, in order to achieve the rapid design of RMT structure,the design methods of RMT topology structure and module is studied.Finally,set up a design method of RMT structure and modular.The main contents are as follows:1.Use TRIZ idealized the process of the development of machine tools,to express the relationship between the initial state,current state,and the ideal state of machine tool.Analysis of the beneficial and harmful functions,then transform them into 39 general engineering parameters and use conflict matrix to solve them.Finally,the principle solution and evolution route is obtained.2.Structure design of RMT based on graph theory. Using technology evolution theory to analyze the evolution trend of processing characteristics,according to the processing characteristics of the parts and the processing characteristics of the corresponding processing methods and functions required.A reasonable layout and structure of the RMT are built,to simplify the structure configuration of RMT by using the theory of graph theory in the mechanical innovation design theory.In the end,according to the processing requirements of the parts,a series of RMT structure configuration schemes are generated.3.Modular design of RMT structure. The realization of RMT structure needs to be realized by the combination of different modules.The modular design of the RMT structure according to the bottom-up design method and RMT modular design process is Structural unit module- Part module- function module – Product.This design method creates the module to be more flexible.4.Examples of application.The structure design of RMT and its modular design method arecombined with the examples. The design model and method are combined to design and analyze the horizontal feed reduction box parts of the numerical control lathe,the RMT configuration and reconfiguration configuration of the parts process are constructed.
