Thiazole derivatives,as important nitrogen heterocyclic compounds, are usually used as two-ligand or polydentate ligands and synthesize multifunctional thiazole metal complexes with transition metal salts due to their good conjugacy and electron-giving properties.Thiazole metal complexes are widely used in medicine, optical materials, agriculture and magnetism.2-2-?pyridinyl?benzothiazole ligand?BPT?was synthesized in this paper.Six thiazole metal complexes were synthesized by selecting bpt ligand and polycarboxylic acid with metal Zn and Cd respectively. The crystal structure of the complexes have been determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis,The analysis results showed that complexes 1 and 4 belong to monoclinic system with space group P21/n,complex 2,3,and complex 6 belong to triclinic system with space group P-1,complex5 belongs to monoclinic system with space group P21/c.purity of the complex was analyzed through XRD diffraction and its thermal stability was analyzed through its thermogravimetry. It was shown in the time-dependent density functional theory?TD-DFT?calculation of complex 1 that its fluorescence was formed by transitions of ligand???*?HOMO-2?LUMO?.Interactions between six complexes and DNA of calf thymus were investigated by means of spectroscopy?ultraviolet spectrum, fluorescence spectrum and circular dichroism spectrum?and viscometric method. Results showed that all the six complexes interacted with DNA in a non-insertion mode. This combination mode can effectively destroy DNA,resulting in destructions of DNA helix structures. Those complexes can interact with cancer cells in this way to damage them and have potential applications in preventing cancer cell replications. It is hoped that this research would provide theoretical bases for designs and developments of new anticancer drugs.
