Bio-based Nylon 56(PA56)has good wear resistance,spinnability,moisture absorption and resilience,and its mechanical properties can reach the same level asnylon 66(PA66).PA56 is an environment-friendly polymer material with excellent properties,it can be widely used in textile and other fields,so bio-based Nylon 56 is a new kind of bio-based mat erial with very good development prospect.At present,there are many researches on the properties of PA56 and few on its functional applications.The research on the functional properties of PA56 can help to widen its application fields and increase the added value of its products.polyhexamethylene Guanidine hydrochloride(PHMG)is an environmentally friendly polymer antibacterial agent,with broad-spectrum and high-efficiency antibacterial properties,as well as the characteristics of being easily soluble in water,colorless and odor less,low toxicity and low price.Good thermal stability performance,both with PA56 contains terminal amino groups,and has certain chemical compatibility,so this topic blends PA56 with different proportions of PHMG to prepare PA56 antibacterial fibers and fabrics,and study its various properties.In this paper,four different proportions of PHMG antimicrobial agents,0.5%,1%,2%and 3%,were blended and modified with PA56 to prepare PA56/PHMG blending systems with different antibacterial effects.The PA56 and PA56 antibacterial blending systems were used for spinning experiments.By comparing and analyzing the mechanical properties and antibacterial properties of the fibers,the antibacterial fibers with a content of 2% PHMG were selected for weaving to study the washing resistance of the fabric.conclusion as below:(1)The compatibility,viscosity,thermal property,crystallinity and antibacterial property of PA56/PHMG antibacterial blend system were studied.It was showed that PHMG was uniformly dispersed in PA56 as fine particles,and there was no phase separation between PHMG and PA56,the melting point,decomposition temperature and viscosity of PA56/PHMG blend decreased gradually with the increase of PHMG content,but the decrease degree was small,The degree of crystallinity and orientation increased to some extent,the crystallization temperature was increased,and the crystallization time was decreased.The PA56/PHMG blend was sterilized mainly by non-leaching method,and a small amount of PHMG was added,PA56/PHMG blend system can obtain good antibacterial performance.(2)The surface morphology,crystallinity,orientation,mechanical properties,hygrosco picity and antibacterial properties of PA56 antibacterial fiber were studied.It was found that the content of PHMG on the surface of antibacterial fiber increased with the addition of antibacterial agent with the increase of draw ratio,the crystallinity and orientation of the fibers increased gradually,while with the increase of PHMG content,the crystallinity and orientation of the fibers decreased to some extent,and with the increase of PHMG content,the mechanical properties of the antibacterial fibers decreased greatly.The moisture regain of antibacterial PA56 fiber increased with the increase of PHMG content.When the addition of PHMG was 0.5% and 1%,the antibacterial rate of PA56 was over 90%.When the addition of PHMG was 2%,the antibacterial rate of PA56 was 99.9%,when the addition of PHMG reached 3%,the bacteriostatic rate of the antibacterial fiber was no longer increased to 99.9%,but the mechanical properties of the fiber decreased.(3)the washing resistance,mechanical properties and style of PA56 antibacterial fabric were tested.The antibacterial rate of PA56 antibacterial fabric was over 80% after 20 times washing,reaching AA grade of antibacterial grade and having better washing resistance.At the same time,the tensile,compressive,shear and flexural properties of the fabrics with 2% PHMG content decreased to some extent,while the flexural properties increased slightly,the main reason is that the breaking strength and elongation of antibacterial fiber are lower than that of pure PA56 fiber,but the hand feeling of antibacterial fabric is hard and its bending property is increased.
