Influenced by long-term living habits and economic level, natural ventilation and infiltration are the main ventilation modes of residential buildings in most areas of China. For a long time,China's environmental problems have been prominent.Even though they have improved in recent two years, they are still not optimistic. Therefore, people have to rethink the problem of air quality and energy consumption in residential buildings.According to the statistical results of residential window opening and closing time, infiltration is the main ventilation mode of residential buildings in winter.Understanding the infiltration mechanism plays a fundamental role in the study of indoor ventilation and indoor air quality. The use of purification equipment can improve indoor air quality, but it also increases the energy consumption of residential buildings.Different purification methods not only have different effects on indoor air quality, but also have great differences on energy consumption. Therefore,it is of great significance to study the indoor air quality and energy consumption of typical residential buildings under different purification strategies. In this study,a typical apartment in Nankai District of Tianjin was selected as the research object. It has heating, air conditioning, ventilation and purification equipment, which represents the typical way of use of residential buildings in northern China. In view of the actual meteorological parameters and outdoor PM2.5 concentration changes, the indoor air quality and residential energy consumption of typical residential buildings under fresh air system and purifier purification were compared by means of experimental test and simulation study.A small meteorological station is placed on the roof of the house to obtain the real meteorological data around the house, which will provide data support for accurate measurement and simulation. The infiltration rate of the room is tested by tracer gas decay method in every month of the year, and the test results are further developed by using EnergyPlus software. The results show that the infiltration rate of the room is mostly concentrated in 0.05-0.85h-1.The indoor PM2.5 concentration distribution under infiltration was tested by PM2.5.5 sensor, and the removal efficiency of PM2.5 by purifier and fresh air fan was compared. The whole year PM2.5 concentration distribution of indoor under deferent purification ways, such as infiltration, internal purification and fresh air system, was simulated by CONTAM software. The results show that when using air purifier,PM2.5 concentration exceeds 35 ug/m3 in 7.4%of the year, and when using fresh air Unit,32%of the year is polluted. That is to say,the purification effect of the purifier is better than that of the fresh air system.A heat meter is installed at the thermal entrance of the apartment to monitor the heat consumption in winter, and the power consumption of air conditioning in summer is tested under typical conditions.EnergyPlus software was used to simulate the annual heating and cooling capacity of residential buildings, and the results were in good agreement with the measured data.
