Face gear transmission is a new kind of gear drive,it has the advantages of large bearing capacity is good,contact ratio.In this paper,based on theoretical analysis of orthogonal face gear drive tooth surface formation,the tooth surface contact strength,bending strength and bonding strength are analyzed.According to the incomplete configuration problem of orthogonal face gear tooth surface,on the basis of considering the gear shaper cutter tip rounded corners,deduce the equation of work tooth surface of the orthogonal and tooth root transition curved surface.And through the MATLAB simulation software of tooth surface,get complete orthogonal face gear tooth surface model.On this basis,use Pro/E software to establish the physical model of the orthogonal face gear.By the tooth surface analysis,the orthogonal face gear tooth surface show that the structure is more reasonable,establish the model for the following foundation strength analysis.In the orthogonal face gear tooth surface contact strength analysis,derived the orthogonal face gear meshing process calculation equation of the maximum contact stress of tooth surface.By use of ANSYS software,analyze the maximum contact stress that machined by two kind of gear shaper cutter during the orthogonal face gear tooth surface meshing transmission process,and through comparing the two methods shows the correctness of the two kinds of calculation methods.Show that the contact stress near the face gear tooth transmission process surface that machined by addendum rounded corners of the gear shaper cutter is small,the tooth surface structure can effectively reduce the tooth surface contact stress.During the orthogonal face gear tooth surface bending strength analysis,using the tangent method to analysis the orthogonal face gear tooth surface of maximum bending stress location.And by using ANSYS software to analysis the maximum bending stress under the point load cases of cylindrical gear and orthogonal face gear tooth that machined by two kinds of gear shaper cutter,the condition of the gearshaper cutter with addendum rounded cutting of orthogonal face gear under the circumstance of point load bending stress is small,makes the resistance to bending of the orthogonal face gear tooth surface structure is improved.During the analysis of the bond strength of orthogonal face gear tooth surface,deduced the tooth surface temperature rise equation of the process of orthogonal face meshing.And by using the Simulation modules of SolidWorks to finish the thermal analysis of the orthogonal face gear tooth entity model that machined by two kinds of gear shaper cutter.And by comparing the two methods shows the correctness of the two kinds of calculation methods.Shows that tooth surface temperature rise near the root of the orthogonal face gear machined by the gear shaper cutter with the addendum rounded corners is lower,the scuffing resistance of orthogonal face gear is improved.
