The Study On Process Optimization Of Company X’s Equipment Interchange Receipt

As the new normal of global economic low speed increasing,ship owners’ transport capacity is obviously more than the need of customs,while the supply of container shipping market is exceeding demand globally.The way toward recovery is difficulty.All these major shipping companies are searching measures according to problems existing of lowering cost and improving efficiency when facing the hard time.With Rapid development of high technology,internet system and Electronic Data Interchange(EDI)technology play more and more important roles,shipping companies could regard it as the chance to change operating process and reduce operating costs to lower total logistics cost,improve in industrial competence,and realize maximum profits finally.This thesis chooses company X,which is one of the top ten shipping companies in the world.With these industry characteristics,this article introduce EDI into container transfer process in accordance with these problems facing company X.Using the ESIA method,this thesis analyzes the process of company X’s container controlling.To solve those problems,EDI is introduced into the container operation system by references of Ningbo and Xiamen port EIR.The necessity and feasibility of paper-free EIR are demonstrated,then the solving path is set to two-step strategy after EIR being in working:barcode EIR replaces paper EIR firstly,then two-dimensional code replaces barcode EIR.The implementation process of company X’s EIR process optimizing are evaluated,those implementation difficulties and corresponding solutions are analyzed.The study result indicates that,paper-free EIR is of good maneuverability and practical significance and realizes company X’s target successfully.Paper-free EIR improved the efficiency,upgraded company’s ability of cost controlling and lowed the total cost.Paper-free EIR will provides helpful experiences for other relevant shipping companies.
