Railway freight transportation and the construction of information system in China started early, but in recent years the informatization construction gradually overtaken by other modes of transportation, and the characteristics of freight transportation such as non-flexible and poor convergence with other transportation become a glaring weakness. With the development of China’s railway freight organizational reform, more and more attention have been attracted by the railway information innovation. Since the12306railway websites formally launched operation, it simplifies the rail freight handling process, but the process still needs a lot of manual operation and the information transfer efficiency is low and customer feedback is not timely. Railway urgently needs to implement information resources’ effective sharing and exchange in a wider range in order to achieve the purpose of maintaining our edge through information asymmetry with competitors and to achieve win-win situation by sharing information with partners. Therefore it is necessary to analyze the user demands of e-commerce for rail freight transportation and propose an effective system solution.Starting with a large number of domestic and foreign e-commerce-related data interchange standards analysis, this paper comparatively studies the composition and architecture of its standard. Combined with the actual situation of China Railway Logistics, the contrast analysis method is used to determine the role of each standard for railway data interchange system. By analyzing the railway freight transport procedure and e-commerce operation process, this article discusses the existing problems of e-commerce systems and do research on the User-composition of the system and its IT environment, and determines the access requirements of the system. On this basis, the system scheme is put forward from two aspects of system overall architecture and technology schemes.The general framework is studied from the following four aspects:1) interchange mode, to determine the basic architecture of the whole system;2) interchange method, to meet the access needs of a wide range of users;3) interchange process, to study the business process of different ways of interchange by routing method;4) logical architecture, research on the core concept of the system and message transformation process. Based on the general framework, system schemes do an in-depth study in the functional structure, the system key technologies, system performance standards and security programs.
